Thanks for the recipe, Steve! If you like the original Goodard's peanut pattie, then you will like this recipe. For those not familiar with this Southern institution, it's a bit like a pink sugar fudge (non-chocolate) loaded with peanuts. Follow the directions as above, but use a candy thermometer and remove from heat when thermometer reaches 240 degrees.

    This was really a great recipe and so simply to mke. I followed the recipe exactly - however the next time I'll use another 1/2 or 3/4 cup more peanuts. I am not a candy maker because of having some bad experiences years ago - but this gave me another burst of hope - thanks Steve & Claire

    The recipe was good. But mine didn't turn out like the Red peanut pattie that my parents like. It turned out more like peanut brittle. But thank you for sharing.
