Excellent, EXCELLENT, ExCeLlEnT is all I can say. Don't miss out on this one folks! Man Oh Man was this ever GOOD! You won't believe it, but I had fallen asleep yesterday afternoon around 5, and when I woke up at 12 midnight I was starving. I was on Zaar looking at recipes because I couldn't sleep, and came across this one. I just happened to have a whole cutup chicken in the fridge waiting to cook, so decided to try it. Am I glad I did! I was out of onions, so I used about 1/2 c. dried onion and just put them in with a little extra water and let them simmer for awhile, and I didn't have celery, so I used 1 tsp. celery salt in place of the chopped celery and salt. I was in heaven eating this at 1:30 am LOL... I just posted pics. Two before and 2 after cooking) You'll be lickin your chops too when you see em
Thanks so much for sharing this family favorite with us Seasoned Cook. Keep on with your delicious recipes. YUMMO!!! Linda

Great recipe with simple ingredients, which had everyone licking the sauce out of the pan. I tweaked the recipe a little, I coated the chicken in a little flour before I browned it and added a garlic clove to the the onions and celery. At the end of the cooking time, I added a little cornflour to the dish to thicken the sauce to my liking. This is an easy dish to make, but made my chicken legs taste fantastic. Thanks for the recipe.

This chicken is so good! I prepared it as posted, then put it on the grill for the last 20 minutes of cooking time, to get the charcoal flavor. I doubled the sauce recipe and basted it with more sauce while it was on the grill. It was excellent!

I was talking to my aunt on the phone and she told me about this delicious chicken that she made that was out of this world. She told me your name and I found it. My girlfriend made it last night for me as a surprise, and it was a surprise alright! We ate until we were about to burst! Awesome awesome sauce and it made this chicken a new favorite with the first bite. We will have this again soon when my cousin and her husband come over for dinner. Can't wait to hear what they have to say. Of course, I will take all the credit haha! Thanks Aunt Linda for recommending this one and thanks to you too Seasoned Cook for sharing it here so we could try it!

I knew this was going to be a special recipe just from looking at the ingredients, and guess what- It was! Incredible it is! This sauce is about the best tasting I have ever had. I used celery salt instead of the salt and chopped celery, and it really added to the overall taste of the sauce. We had along with potato salad, coleslaw and homemade biscuits and it was super! Thank you for sharing this recipe with us!

Great Recipe! WE really enjoyed this dish. DH commented that it tasted "Sweet & Sour" & that it would also be good with pork chops. The changes I made to the recipe were adding 1/4 c chili sauce, 1/2 red bell pepper chopped, extra brown sugar & 2 cloves of chopped garlic. I used 6 large thighs, which were done baking in about 45 minutes. Next time I would drain some of the fat prior to making the sauce in the pan cuz I had to skim it off after baking.

Good gracious man alive, this one is to die for! I made using dried onion flakes and celery salt just like Linda's Busy Kitchen did, as I didn't have the other ingredients on hand. Followed the rest of the recipe. The flavor is just so darn good, I can't even tell you! You'll have to try it yourself and see what I mean! My family says it's one of the best chicken recipes I have cooked in a long time, so I guess that just about wraps it up. Into my favorites it goes for many years of enjoyment. Thanks for sharing!

This was very tasty! I made as directed, but only used chicken breasts. I only baked for about 20 minutes, because I didn't want to overcook the chicken. I then poured the sauce into a pot and cooked for another 15 minutes to thicken it up. Turned out great! Thank you!
