Each to their own and all but I can't honestly understand what the previous reviewers didn't like about this recipe! If you like bananas then this is just fantastic - simple, tasty and surely at least a little healthy considering there's fruit involved! I coined my bananas and followed the directions as stated and came out with lovely, caramelised bananas that were sticky and crunchey on the outside and goey and soft on the inside. The closest thing I can equate these too is the caramel banana fritters you sometimes get in chinese restaurants, only these are without the batter. I ate mine for breakfast with crumpets and they were SO good. I will definitely have them again without a shadow of a doubt. Thanks for a great recipe Maito!

Made these this morning to go with french toast and they were excellent. However, I have to confess that I used 2 tablespoons of butter instead of the cooking spray. Worked great using the butter! Thanks for sharing!

These are wonderful! My picky child did not want to try them but loved them once he did. Mine were not very pretty, but that was operator error. They were a fabulous addition to Chocolate Breakfast Taco (Crepes). Thanks Maito! Made for healthy ABC.

ohhh delicious. addicting. Since some said they had trouble caramelizing, i used splenda brown sugar blend since brown sugar caramelizes fast. Was done in minutes, so easy and so great.

Definitely easy! I used Smart Balance tub margarine and it took around 10 minutes to caramelize. Just be patient and wait for it to happen...when it does, it's like magic. The entire composition of the bananas changes as if they are melting. We enjoyed them over praline crunch frozen yogurt. For sugary sweet lovers only!

What lovely, caramelized bananas. They turned out wonderful, flavorful and very pretty. It is a quick method that is very easy to make. The carmaelized bananas were excellant served with waffles. Thanks for sharing Maito, I'll be making this little treat again.

An 11 star recipe. Oh so many reasons, not enough room. But to start off with the quickness and ease, coupled with the absolute "zamm""pow" taste, PLUS had everything on hand, and FABULOUS I don't think I can put anymore words in, because we are so busy downing this with sitting beautifully atop a piece of caramelized blueberry bread. The bread was getting older, you know, could use a bit of something. Well, this woke it up and I am not sure that all the bananas will be around tomorrow after this delight. I used a nonstick pan, sliced lengthwise, thin, and only used cooking spray. Was browned beautifully in 3 minutes, flip, and another minute just as stated. Just so nice Maito! Thank you so much!

I didn't know what to expect going into this, because I'm not a big banana fan and dbf didn't think he'd like warm bananas. The only thing I didn't do was spray coat a plate, because I threw them right from the pan on top of ice cream in bowls. The crispy warm banana went very well with the cold ice cream, which was vanilla and had fudge and chocolate crispes in it. Dbf said even the last banana he ate was still warm and crispy and conceded that he did in fact like warm bananas lol. Next time I'll try with butter and see which I like better. I think fabulous is a very good word for these.

Yum! These were really tasty, and so easy. I served them on toast. I loved the way they were crunchy on the outside, but soft and gooey on the inside.

A very unique recipe requiring minimal ingredients, we made the slices and the strips versions. With the strips, we sliced off the round edge so both sides would be flat to make it more uniform during cooking. This worked quite well. We prefered the strips, as they held their crispiness better, while Buddha's son prefered the slices. This is a great topping to make a dish of 'upscale ice cream'.
