Confession #1 — I did not make this recipe. I bought the ingredients, and I "observed", but my daughter Adiya and her friend Chana made this yesterday afternoon. Adiya decided to add some pizza seasoning (that's what it says on the jar). Confession #2 — There was about a 1/3 of the pie left over after Adiya and 3 of her friends finished eating. Around 11 PM I got the nibblies, and polished the whole thing off in about 8 minutes. Confession #3 — if you use a disposable 9 inch pie dish, there is minimal clean-up! Next time we're going to add lots more mozzarella cheese on top, since people tend to get very violent when fighting over the crust!

Great simple recipe Richard...thank you! As is always the way with me, I had to add some fresh minced garlic as well, this one's a keeper and you are correct, it makes for a great presentation too!

Richard this was wonderful. I added plenty of salt, pepper and a little greek seasoning to the potatoes for some spiciness. The pie had a great creamy texture and lovely cheesy taste. It looked beautiful too. Thanks to you and your mom for sharing this.

Fantastic recipe Richard! So easy to put together. This came out so creamy and cheesy. You'd never believe that the base of this was instant mashed potatoes! The only thing I did different was to shake a little "Old Bay" seasoning on top instead of paprika. The spice complimented the pie beautifully.

I though this was really good as did my granddaughter and my son. My wife thought it was so-so. I will definately make this again.

Just loved this recipe, I used fresh garlic. I have used instant potatoes for a thickening agent but this is the first time I have used it as a recipe. I have always used fresh potatoes. My mind has been changed now though, thanks very much.

I was realy surprised at how good this was. My family couldn't believe I was using instant potatoes, but I wanted to try this. They all asked for the recipe. Good job Richard.. thanks Lee

This is a super recipe, Richard! I served this pie with meatloaf, and it was a great success! It has a wonderful, dreamy texture, and a wonderful taste! I think I'll use less garlic powder next time, as the kids aren't too partial to it. I could really get creative with this recipe; next time, might add chopped chives, or sweetcorn, or maybe a different type of cheese, or ham. (So many possibilities!)

This is just Dani under my moms name. I have to say I made this recipe in October as a part of my dad's birthday dinner. I decided to make this last minute, its one of those great recipes where you're likely to have all the ingredients already on hand. This potato dish was sooo yummy in my opinion. We all loved it. It was so easy to make, didnt take hardly any time and I couldnt believe it was made with boxed potatos! I had to mix of a couple different kinds of cheeses cuz I didnt have enough mozarella but I think it only added even more flavor to an already great dish! Thanks for posting this recipe! I'd definitely make it again!

Great recipe. Definitely something I will make again. I have not used instant potatoes in years. For this recipe I bought Idaho Russet brand and even the picky eaters in my family gave nothing but praise.
