This is my son's favorite Christmas cookie. He asked me today if we were going to make them this year and I thought it was sweet that he remembered them but I had NO IDEA where I had put the recipe. SO THANKS for posting. If I could only be so organized

I made these for a Christmas cookie exchange at work. I really like the idea of these. The dough was impossible to roll out however. It was way to moist and just wouldn't work. I ended up just rolling the dough into a cookie sheet and using cut out of candy canes (they wouldn't transfer from the table to the cookie sheet without falling apart). I sprinkled crushed peppermint and sugar on the top of them. They tasted great, just didn't turn out the way that I wanted them to.

These taste wonderful! I made them last year and forgot to reate them. I have to agree with Heather though they are very labor intensive because the dough (no matter how long I cooled it) was so moist and sticky forever to form, and I ended up making huge cookies jsut to get them made.
