5 Bright Stars! To keep peace in the household, I had to substitute ground beef for the turkey! Also added about 3/4 cup of fresh corn to the mixture. Well, there was one other substitution; poblano for the green peppers. Even though my packaged cornbread did not rise (my fault, can't even remember when I purchased) it was WONDERFUL! Thanks for sharing Cookiedog!

Delicioso is right! I also saw this on Simply Delicioso and was so excited to see it posted here so soon. Made this over the weekend for a quick & easy dinner that I assembled in the morning and just popped into the oven. The spicy turkey mixture is right on with the sweetness of the cornbread topping.....we all really liked it and will definitely be making again soon. Hooray for cookiedog for posting!

I also saw this on Simply Delicioso and tried it immediately....I Love the chipotle & adobo, I did 2 tsp of the adobo sauce and used "jiffy" brand cornbread mix because it is a sweeter mix and the sweet/savory/kick just melded together !!! Great dish!

I tried this last weekend. It is really good. I had to improvise on some of the ingredients, but it was wonderful. Everyone asked for the recipe. I used black beans, added some additional montery jack cheese, beef instead of turkey, crushed coriander because I didn't have cilantro and was completely out of cumin so I couldn't add that. I can't wait to try it as posted, but it was really good dispite my alterations. Thanks for a great one Cookie.

Wonderful texture and flavors combine in this recipe although the 2 chipotles does not make it spicy at all. The cheese and beans give the filling a wonderful smoothness and I too used Jiffy cornbread for a "sweet" topping. Subbed lean ground beef, used cooking spray, and left out the g. peppers due to kids' tastes. I almost always have to sub onion powder for onion in every recipe. The taste did not suffer at all. so easy - a keeper!

I share the posting chef's fondness for chipotles and thought in a tamale pie the fiery condiment would work supremely well. The dish held up to it's promise and brunch today was a delight. Made a few modifications to suit my lowfat lifestyle, none of which compromised the delightful flavors in the dish. (Indeed the bold flavors here make it a perfect candidate for substitutions.) I omitted both the buttering of the baking dish using cooking spray instead. Also left out the oil used to cook the turkey without issue. Used a reduced fat cheddar and Recipe # 87115 for my cornbread topping. My one comment, not related to the calorie reduction items was that I found the pie filling not quite saucy enough for my tastes so I added some additional tomatoes with chilies and 1 tablespoon of tomato paste and water. That made this just perfect for me. Thanks cookiedog. Made for *Photo Tag*.

This was a great recipe! We made a few changes since we were to make this camping, in a dutch oven over a fire. The flavors were great and the texture was perfect! We'll be making this for years to come.
