This is fantastic. I was abit concerned with the amount of salt, especially with using ketchup, but it was perfect. I used imported paprika..1 t. mild, 1 t. hot. Just before serving I stirred in some sour cream and served it over extra wide buttered noodles, a leafy green salad and warm crusty french bread...oh God I gotta run to the store and get the stuff to make it again..this is making me hungry! Great recipe Garnet, I will make this often.

This was very good. My husband grew up eating his grandmother's goulash. As his mother is visiting, the 2 of them decided they wanted goulash and this is the recipe they chose. We used extra lean meat, and splenda instead of the sugar. We also omitted the flour mixture and just stirred some fat free sour cream into it. Very good over yolkless egg noodles with bread sticks to dunk into the sauce (which honestly was not that thin considering there was no thickener added). Yum!

This is a very easy and flavorful dish. I served it over rice and my grandson loved it! The next time I make it I will cut the time to 6 hours because the meat was mushy, Very good. Thanks!

"Outstanding" and "Wow" were my husband's comments when he tried this, so I have to give it 5 stars. I used regular stewing beef and it turned out very tender despite only having 6 hours cooking time. I found that the 1/4 cup of flour thickened the gravy almost too much, so I ended up throwing in about 1/4 cup of red wine at the end. I served it over egg noodles as others suggested and sprinkled the top with parsley. It was wonderful - A keeper for sure.

This is very good, total comfort food. Next time I make this, I will reduce the salt because it was a bit too salty for us. We had this over noodles, and my husband stirred some sour cream into his. Very tasty. Thanks!

Served with hot buttered noodles and crusty rolls.

This recipe was great! Very easy to make and very tasty. I did use a roast instead of beef tips only because the beef tips were pretty expensive compared to the roast. I just shredded the roast before adding the flour/water. I served this over egg noodles and I think next time I will double the sauce ingredients and only cook it about 6 hours. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!

This recipe turned out really well. The meat was very tender and served over pasta, it made a delicious supper. I served it with fresh, crusty Italian bread and a green salad.

Garnet, this was spectacular! Didn't add as much flour to thicken as suggested, but that's just a personal preference. Thank you so much for posting this recipe.
