Fantastic and so simple! I prepare the marinade right in the pan for easy clean up, and serve it with diced cucumber and tomato with yogurt and lemon. Wonderful unique flavor. Try it!

This was great! Easy and tasty. I followed the recipe exactly. Served on warmed pita with tzatziki, lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber and olives. My vegetarian Lebanese sweetie ate 3!

Hey, Veganized! Glad to have metcha. Don't know how authentic this was, but it tasted great! BF liked it too. I served this with lettuce, tomato and tzatziki (Tzatziki) on a pita bread. Left out the sumac because I didn't have any. I halved this recipe, and since I don't have a 1/8 teaspoon measuring spoon, I winged it. As a result, and because I might have added more water than was necessary, it could have been more spicy than it was. In addition, I only had time for 45 minutes of marinating. Next time I try this I won't make the same mistakes:D Thanks!

Wow, what an interesting sauce. I've never tasted shawarma before so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I really liked this. I didn't add sumac, because I don't have any and don't actually know what it is, but otherwise followed the recipe as written. Used home-made seitan and served with whole wheat pita bread, lettuce, cucumber, tomato and tzatziki. Thanks for posting, this is a keeper!
