I love this cookie recipe! It has been one of my favorites for when I have a sweet tooth and need something quick! You can also add a little bit of coconut (1/4 cup) to it if you want, but they are delicious without!

I love these cookies! I had a recipe without the peanut butter, but adding the peanut butter makes this recipe even more delightful and more like the cookies I remember from growing up.
They were gone very quickly in my house! Next time I'll double the recipe
Thank you!

You can totally botch this recipe and they still come out good. First off all I had were old fashined oats. Also,I intended to half it, but accidentally added too much milk. I simply added the full amount of oats and everything came out fine. Only addition I made was a dash of salt. I also pressed them into a 13x9 pan, and there was just enough to cover the pan. Yum. Very good.

Wow! These are great. I made them last night for a really quick treat ( I have a major sweet tooth! ) THis morning, I brought a couple platefuls to work this morning and they were gone in about 15 minutes. I think the best part about these cookies is the quick preparation. Just remember to leave some cooling time!

YUM!! My mom has been making these for years. We use 3 3/4 cups oatmeal, and they come out perfectly in my opinion. The consistency does depend on the weather as well, as the poster comments. I've also made these without the cocoa for a yummy peanut butter cookie. You just can't go wrong with these awesome cookies!

If you follow the recipe as-is, this is extremely delicious. This has always been one of my favorite cookies ever and I was glad to find the recipe here since I lost mine. Yum! It's important to follow the directions and add the first four ingredients first, like it says. If you don't boil it following the directions or add too much vanilla or milk the cookies will be gooey and not set up right. If you boil it too long, the cookies will be dry. I made this recipe following the directions and ingredient amounts exactly and it turned out exactly like it is supposed to. Yum!! I do use crunchy peanut butter, because I love having chunks in it, but it's just as good with regular peanut butter too. These are really good cookies!!

I was looking for a nice no-bake cookie, and this one is excellent! Had my cub scouts make these, and they didn't last long! LOL

This is a classic recipe, but it definitely DOES NOT need four cups of oats. I think the recipe should only call for 3 1/4 to 3 1/2 cups of oats. I just made these using 4 cups of oats and they turned out as dry and crumbly as possible. They did taste very nice, but be warned about the four cups. While I appreciate the poster's opening comments, I think she should ammend the recipe to the low side in order. You can always add more oats if you need them, but you can never take them away.
