These were fantastic! The dough was perfect and easy to work with. I was out of fresh milk, so I used 2 tablespoons of non-instant dry milk and one cup of water. By accident, I used 1/2 cup sugar instead of the 1/3, but they weren't too sweet at all. And last, I wanted rolls big enough to put chicken salad on, so I only made eight. They worked out beautifully! Dawn, thank you!!

I don't have a bread machine and so I dissolved the yeast in the warm water and added the sugar after it was dissolved to proof, then added the rest of the ingredients. I mixed by hand let the dough raise in a 170* oven for an hour. I added a little more flour when I was rolling out the circle. Let them raise again after rolling. So this recipe could be used for those who don't have a bread machine. These were great!

So easy to mix up and roll out and they are gorgeous! I was able to spare several to bring to neighbors and now, I know, if I don't send them to a few more, I'll be in trouble! This recipe will be a staple in my recipe repetoire! Thank you so much Dawn!!

This is an awesome recipe!!! I made these tonight for DH to take to work to feed his friends tomorrow. Made a small pan for us and the kids loved them. DD(9) said it was the best rolls she had ever eaten. DH said oh my,oh my... he is happy! These are good. really light and just the perfect texture!! The only thing I did differently is I used bread flour and had to use cream as I had no milk. We will definitely make these often! Thanks!

I LOVED it! I was looking for a recipe foro crescent rolls when I discovered that I had none of the packaged ones in the refrigerator. I need them for the shell on Claudia's Low Fat Spinach & Bacon Quiche Muffins. They tasted WONDERFUL in this recipe. I will definitely make these again anytime I need crescent rolls as part of a recipe (like veggie pizza). So easy to make and 100 times better than store bought. Thanks so much for posting.

I made these for "Flour Power Challenge April 2008 " on 4/18/08.And I must say if I can make this recipe anyone can. I'm going to have to roll the dough a little thinner next time because I ended up with "Mega Sized" crescent rolls. Of course there had to be a "Quality Control Test" to see if they tasted good, and they passed with flying colors. This recipe will be made again. Thanks for posting and, "Keep Smiling

This recipe is excellent!!! The dough is easy to make and rolling out the dough was a breeze. My daughter loved these so much that she had three and would have had more if I didn't stop her.She wants me to make them for Thanksgiving dinner. It makes 16 large rolls though I think you might be able to get 24 from this dough and still be a good size but I haven't tried it yet to know ,as I just tried making these for the first time last night.I used my mixer instead of my bread machine and the dough turned out great. I would not substitute margarine for butter because it just would not be as good.I have found this is the case with many roll recipes, that it is just much better with real butter.Give this recipe a try it is really good!!!

Dawn, Thank you for sharing this recipe. My goodness the bread came out so soft, buttery and light as air. The dough is super easy to work with and I made these by hand. A permanent keeper. Note: the dough takes awhile to rise if you were to make them by hand like me but the waiting is surely worth it.

Wow these are awesome!! I pulled one pan out of the oven when DS came home from school. That pan was gone before I pulled the second pan out of the oven. DS said WOW those are big crescents! DH ate 3 of them. He said I have to make these more often. He loves them (he once told me he doesn't like homemade crescent rolls!)! This dough was very easy to work with. I have been searching for crescent rolls for the bread machine. I split the dough in half and rolled the dough out, then cut 8 pie shaped wedges from each dough. I don't think I would have enough room to roll the whole piece of dough out. This is a great recipe I will be making all the time. Thanks for posting!!
