Hi Wildheart: Just tried your YUMMIE Homemade Syrup this morning. It's not only tasty, basic, and cheap, it's just wonderful, that's all! Great taste, fast and easy to mix, pretty easy on the pocketbook! I followed your directions, but because there are just two of us here, I cut everything in half and simmered for about 10 min. Absolutely excellent. Thanks so much for sharing. Laudee C.

WOW! Let me tell you, it worked for me, My son and Wife wanted Pancake's like right now, and I lived to far from town to go and get some syrup, but I knew that I would be able to find something on the internet, and Lo and Be hold, here it is how to make Syrup..

Being a mother of a 3 year old, when I remembered I was out of syrup, the last thing I wanted was to run out in 4 inches of snow, in 10 degree weather just to buy syrup. When I found this recipe, I decided to go for it. Yummy! I'm really glad I did. It was really easy to make (uses alot of sugar though), and served warm...HMMM! Best of all, it made alot (use a large saucepan) so I won't have to buy any syrup for at least a month. If you need syrup, make this one! Thanks so much for posting!

(I halved the recipe) In a hurry this morning to feed 4 adults and 5 kids, when I realized I only had a smidge of store bought syrup left. I had all the ingredients except the maple extract, so I just added the finished recipe to the syrup I already had. Topped the pancakes with the syrup mixture, diced nectarines & bannanas. EVERYONE GOBBLED IT UP. This was SUPER EASY TO MAKE. I like the fact of no refrigeration. But, next time, I will MAKE SURE TO HAVE MAPLE EXTRACT on hand.

This is great! I use 1 teaspoon maple extract and 1 teaspoon vanilla. It is enjoyed by all.

We were out of our favorite pure maple syrup tonight and the kids were having pancakes for dinner. I halved the recipe and used vanilla extract instead of maple due to chemical allergies (we can't have fake flavorings.) It worked out fine, was quick and easy and of course, cheap!! Thanks so much for saving dinner!

Thanks for sharing this great recipe! We can't use store bought because of corn intolerance so this recipe is a real find. We made a half batch the first time and it was moldy smelling after a week or so, so now we make a quarter batch and use it right away.

Delightful! I halved the recipe. Didn't have maple extract, so I used two tablespoons of real maple syrup! Turned out great! Thanks for sharing!
