:yummy: This is really tasty! I cooked 2 versions of this - one as in the recipe and one with the additiona of 1/2 a chicken stock cube and 1/2 tsp of ras el hanout spices. Both versions were delicious... I agree wholeheartedly that this is comfort food and it's great that it's so healthy and nutritious too. Will have the leftovers for lunch today

YUM! Not the prettiest dish, lol, but delicious comfort food nonetheless. Made for the North Africa/Middle East Forum's Recipe of the Week.

I used standard short grain brown rice and caramelized the onions. Good vegetarian meal served with a tossed salad and pear sauce. Thanks!

I just made this and it was great. Very easy to make. I used white rice instead and used less water (brown rice always needs more water). Next time I will try it with the brown rice and use more onions. I also pan cooked some turkey sausage I had left over (3 links) and added it to the rice. I was great. This can be eaten w/or w/o meat.

This recipe is missing the most important ingredients! ALL-SPICE and 7 spices....this will give it the zingggg it needs, that's the correct Lebanese way to make it
ENJOY.
