This Recipe is amazing, but it was a bit thin so i add to it 1/4 cup corn syrup and it came out more than perfect. I used it over my Oreo ice cream sandwishes. Thanx wildheart for sharing this great recipe with us.

This is a great recipe, but I also found this to have too much cocoa. I recommend using between 1/4-1/2 cup cocoa at the most-especially if you don't like a bitter taste. Also, I prefer to add the vanilla after taking off the heat to promote the best vanilla flavor. I also added about a 1/4 cup light corn syrup for a molasses type consistency.

wow, this is absolutely incredible! It's the best chocolate syrup I've ever had, and it was so easy to make. We've been eating it with vanilla ice cream and pecans. I love how the chocolate flavor stands out more than the sugar, it's very intense. I will definetely be making this again.

Oh my, what a wonderful recipe for chocolate syrup...I think even better than the store-bought brand....The only thing I changed was I used 1 cup of water with 1/2 cup whipping cream, for a more creamy taste, and added a little more sugar, cause DH and myself have a sweet tooth. I made this to use in my Bailey's fudge cake #76512...it turned out great with your wonderful homemade syrup. I will use the remaining sauce over icecream....Thanx Wildheart for a delicious chocolate syrup recipe...this is a keeper

I make a similar recipe, but use milk instead of water, 1 tsp butter, brown instead of white sugar, no salt, and 1 tsp cornflour. 1 cup of cocoa is quite strong for this quantity of liquid. You could try 2-3 heaped tbspns instead. Wonderful poured over a chocolate cake smothered in fresh berries and served with whipped cream.

This IS incredible. I ran out of the "you know who's" syrup and with a 5-year old in the house, that constitutes an emergency. It went together easily. I had one little problem, I started with a 2-quart pan and when it got boiling, it was very close to the top of the pan, so I had to transfer it to a 3-quart pan and everything went smoothly from there. What a rich chocolatey syrup this is. I poured it in a cleaned out chocolate syrup bottle. I bet my family does not even notice!

This turned out excellent, I wanted it to be thicker, so I reduced the water to 1 1/4 cups of water, boiled it hard for 3 minutes, turned out perfectly thick. Also, it was so good in milk! No more "H" for me. Oh and I made it sugar free by using xylitol for the sugar. Just EXCELLENT!

I made this a couple of months ago and forgot to review it! My family can't tell the difference between this and Hershey's, so I'll make some more later. Thanks for the recipe!
