What a wonderful recipe! It was soooo easy to put together and the smell (we used strawberry unsweetened kool-aid) was wonderful. The recipe is something that you could easily throw together when children come to visit (and my oldest could actually make the recipe herself). While the texture is very similiar to playdough, I actually liked it much better as it was smooth and elastic. My 5 year old even made a comment that it didn't stick to her fingers like playdough (and when it did you just took a little ball of dough to pick up the pieces). This recipe is a keeper for the kids!!

This was my first try making play dough, and BOY was I impressed. Not only is it the greatest stuff to work with (you DON'T have to refrigerate it either), but all the moms are impressed that I am using a Martha Stewart recipe. Woo hoo. My kids just love this stuff.

This was wonderful. It has such a great consistency! I wanted to play with this even when the kids weren't there! Note to other cooks: recipe does not work with powdered gatoraid mix.

I have another recipe for play dough which I also posted but this one is much easier and quicker to make. The only difference is that this one has to be refrigerated and the other doesn't. Great to have for a quick entertainment for the kiddos. Thanks!

I work for the Foundation for the Retarded of the Desert and am always looking for fun things to do with them. We made 5 different colors of this recipe. It was fun and easy and all edible so I didn't have to worry about one of my clients eating it and getting sick. Even the clients that normally just sit in their chairs doing nothing got into it by rolling it and smashing it flat. It just felt good to their hands and was good therepy for those that have problems working their fingers. It was enjoyed by them as well as staff members. Thank you very much for a very entertaining and satisfying day for some people that even small things are difficult. We will make this often in our program.

Another 5 star rating for this easy & fun recipe! My 4y/o daughter wanted Play Doh this morning - I was going to go to the local grocery store & spend $$ on some when I remembered hearing that you could make it homemade, so checked out the 'zaar. I am on my third batch & will make it for my youngest neice & nephew for Christmas & package it with a couple cookie cutters - what an easy & frugal gift! Thank you thank you thank you!

I love this recipe. It's so easy and I think it turns out better than the store bought play dough. I love that you don't have to cook it. It smells great and is so soft.

This was a good recipe....one of the reviews by VR (who gave 1 rating)was usefull......instead of adding 1 cup boiling water I added 3/4 cup......it was not messy at all and it worked....If I had put 1 cup than it would have been messy...I live in thailand....lots of humidity...this recipe is great for kids as it requires no cooking time. Thanks recipezaar.

This is the best play dough recipe yet. Very easy and it smells delicious. My 5 year old and I had to trek back to the grocery store for more Kool Aid. Thanks for posting a great recipe!

This recipe was soooo easy and soooo fun. We went wild, making several different colors. The smell was great. I found that the dough was sticky until it cooled a little. I just mixed the water in the best I could, let it cool a little and then mixed more until I could knead it. I didn't want to give the finished project over to the kids to play with because I wanted to keep playing with it.
