I loved this!!! I would give it more than 5 stars!!! Made it instead of canned enchilada sauce for V's Mexican Lasagna and will probably never buy the canned again. It was easy to make and the result.. Well homemade. I'm so glad I have this recipe now... Thanks for sharing. (Made for March Bevy Tag)

Very good and easy to make. I had never made enchilada sauce before. I followed the recipe as written except I didn't add the cayenne as I don't like things too spicy. Will be using this recipe in the future when I need enchilada sauce.

Perfect! I made this in advance and kept it in the fridge for a few days before using in my enchiladas - delicious!! Made for Recipe Swap#14 in the Aus/NZ forum

This sauce was so delicious!!! Way better than any can sauce you can buy, and in my opinion it's better than any restuarant! I doubled the recipe, however I used only a pinch of oregano.

This was just wonderful! I doubled the recipe and froze half for next time...I will probably add this to my OAMC collection - would be great to have on hand in the freezer just to pull out when needed. Although DH and I love spicy things, I did not add the cayenne for my children's sake. Made for Potluck Tag march 2008.

I loved this! Very nice flavor. I used it to make an enchilada casserole, and it was very good. I had no idea how to make enchilada sauce. It's very easy, thanks so much for posting, SweetsLady!

This was an excellent sauce. I had to make it 2 times as it did not turn out as well as I would've liked the first time. The second time I used butter instead of oil and I did not cook the mixture for a minute after I added the chili powder... it was delicious!

Wow! I am not a huge fan of enchilada sauce, but this is the best I have ever had! Halved the sugar and salt for our tastes. I was afraid of not being able to get the clumps out (I also wasn't sure if it was because I used less oil), but it did work to whisk it. Much better than you can get in any restaurant (and we get good Mexican food in CA)!

We really enjoyed this sauce. I omitted the salt and sugar and used homemade tomato sauce. It was excellent! Thanks for sharing!
