Absolutely WONDERFUL!!! I opted for an oven method, though. I had 3 things going on the stove, so made these in the oven instead! Tossed them with melted butter, s&p'ed them, and baked them at 350 (covered) for 45 minutes. Took them out, topped them with cooked bacon broken into pieces, then a lot of shredded cheddar and mixed Italian white cheeses, and popped them back in (covered) for another 15 minutes. They were AWESOME!!! My hubby thanks you, too!!!! Made for the ZWT4

Delicious simple potatoes! I used new red baby potatoes and fiesta blend cheese. I cooked them on top of the stove instead of the microwave - just a personal preferance. Served with scallion and ranch sour cream.

Boy oh boy these are good, but whats not to like about potatoes cheese and bacon. I boiled my potatoes instead of the microwave method and them put them together and baked them for 15 minutes. Very good. Thanks diner and congrats on the football win.

What is there not to love about this carb fest??? I scaled the recipe in half for the two of us for dinner... I actually parboiled my potatoes first for 10 minutes and as I was finishing up the rest of dinner, I cooked them for about 7 minutes after mixing in the cheese and butter... so delicious! I used center cut bacon, extra sharp cheddar and garnished with lots of sour cream and fresh onion chives from the garden! Thanks for a delish side to accompany all meats!!!

Delicious potatoes! I halved the recipe for just two of us and we loved the combination of flavors. The first night we had them with barbecued chicken and the next night had them with steak. Great with both entrees. I'm not sure which way I liked them best - a little creamier the first time, or a little crunchier the second time. You have made me a fan of cooking potatoes in the microwave. Thanks diner for another great recipe.

One superbly flavoursome weekend brunch! I sprinkled my potatoes with rosemary, sage, salt and freshly ground black pepper and, to make them healthier, I halved the butter (on the recommendation of several reviewers) and that was ample, and undoubtedly could be cut back further. I love the microwave method here for speeding up the initial cooking but I did want my potatoes browned and crisp, so I put them in the oven for twenty minutes in step two and cooked my middle rashers of bacon on an oven tray at the same time. I added the cheese and bacon to the potatoes for the last 5 minutes of baking, long enough for the cheese to melt. YUM! The sour cream was such a decadently delicicious final touch! When I next make these, much as I love sour cream, I'll probably top mine with creamy Greek yoghurt (one of my standard substitutions) or, perhaps tzatziki. Thank you for sharing this great recipe, diner524! Made for EVERY DAY IS A HOLIDAY!

Very good! I made just as stated, but I did put them in the oven for about 20 minutes so they would get crispy and more tender. This is a nice recipe for when you are using your oven for other things. I do think I may reduce the butter to half next time just to cut down on some fat. Thanks for sharing!

These potatoes were wonderful. I only used half of the bacon and it was plenty. I did throw them in the oven for the last 15 mins while the rest of dinner finished cooking. DH told me I can make these again anytime I wanted to and I will since they are so simple and quick to make. Thanks for posting.

What's not to like: potatoes=good. Bacon=good. Cheese=good. It's all good. I started these in the microwave, and finished them up in the oven. Thanks!

Our family and lunch guests liked this... relatively easy to put together too. I halved the recipe because I was serving several dishes buffet style... and I did cut out most of the bacon grease in the interests of trying to eat healthier but I also used the full amount of bacon called for so we still had plenty of flavour from the meat itself. Please see my Rating System: 4 lovely stars for a tasty recipe that went down well with everyone. Thanks!
