This pie turned out exactly like you would hope. I bought 4 very large Braeburn apples which yielded 7 cups. That was a perfect amount. Another very nice thing about this recipe is that the topping uses just 3 T. butter, whereas so many other similar recipes use 8 T. butter. I felt there was plenty of topping and wouldn't change a thing when I make this again!

A great apple pie! The crust is similar to the crust I usually make only I add a little more shortening. I used about 5 cups of apples, 1 t ground cinnamon and 1/2 t nutmeg. It had a great flavor. The crumb topping is delicious and really makes this pie. I will definitely make again.

This is a great apple pie. I like the simplicity of it. I made the crust with butter and used four Granny Smith apples which was 6 cups. Turned out delish! Thanks for the great recipe Anme!

Excellent! The apples were still firm and tart! Perfect! The topping wonderful and this was very easy to make. I used Lemon Compound Butter for the butter that gave it a slight orange flavor. Thanks

My review is for the pie excluding the crust. I cheated and had a prepared crust in the freezer that needed to be used. The pie is wonderful. A combination of granny smith and gala apples were used. I used Baking Spice Blend Mix for the spices. The ingredients list calls for 1/3 cup white sugar and the instructions refer to 1/2 cup. I used the 1/3 cup which was perfect. This was served warm with frozen vanilla yogurt. Made for ZWTIII.

This was so good we finished 1/2 of the pie while taking a break from gardening. Was easy and simple to make, there is no way anyone can mess it up. This is a keeper Thanks Anme.

We usually prefer a two-crust apple pie but this one is exceptional! Aroma when baking is wonderful. The crumble topping would be great for any kind of fruit crisp too.
