We love tilapia and panko so this was a sure-to-be winner. I upped the seasonings, using 1/2 tsp Old Bay in the margarine/lemon juice mixture as well as in the coating. I did have quite a bit of margarine left so I drizzled some over the fillets before baking. Mine were perfectly flaky and crisp after 12 minutes convection bake time. Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Yummy! I had 3 large fillets and put twice as much Old Bay in with the panko as suggested by otheres. I dipped the fillets in the breading, then the butter, and then the breading again. My daughter said that is the only fish that she likes and dh said he liked it and he doesn't care for fish.
Thanks for the great recipe, Kizzikate!

We really enjoyed this recipe. Our fillets were alittle thicker than usual so I had to bake ours longer than this recipe called for. I also replaced the garlic powder for minced garlic. I added minced garlic in the melted butter and dipped fillets than into the panko breading and poured the rest of butter/garlic over top of fillets in baking dish. I didn't have lemon juice so I added garlic lemon pepper to the breading. The fillets were crunchy and thats how we enjoy fish
Thanks so much for sharing the recipe!

we LOVED this dish. i tasted very light, and it was perfect over a salad. i tripled the old bay, becuse i like some kick. i also like to spray the top of the panko-d filets with Pam to get it a little crunchier. thanks for the recipe!

We really enjoyed this. I used farm fed Tilapia, which was my mistake. Didn't have a lot of flavor. Did not include that when I rated this recipe though. I would have liked a little more spice in the panko seasoning but it really hit the spot for us tonight. Loved the butter mixture. I did cook mine a little longer to see if I could get it to brown more. May increase the temp some next time. I also used the breading mixture to bake some shrimp to go with the Tilapia. Served this with fresh sliced tomatoes. thanks

My family loved this---DH ate 3 fillets! Even my DD who isn't crazy about fish loved this. DH suggested adding some grated Parmesan cheese and a little more seasoning to the crumb mixture. This is sure to become a regular meal in our house!

I was late in from work and had some panko crumbs and Old Bay in the cupboard and needed something quick for dinner. This took only a few minutes and my husband and teenage sons loved it and wanted more. I guess I'll be keeping tilapia in the freezer!

This was an easy and delicious way to cook tilapia! My fillets took 15 minutes to bake; I served with asparagus and rice. I followed reviewers suggestions and drizzled the remaining butter mixture over the fish. My DH and 2 DS's cleaned their plates; DS's don't always do that with fish.

I made these last night and they were terrific! I took the advice of other reviewers and added more Old Bay seasoning (I used 2 teaspoons) since it adds such a nice flavor to bread coatings. I dipped the fish several times in the butter sauce before rolling in the panko crumbs so I would have a thick coating of the panko. The fish came out perfectly; moist and crunchy at the same time. And it's so easy and quick to make — a "keeper" recipe that I'll be making over and over! Thanks for posting this great recipe.

This was great! I followed the recs from some of the other reviewers and tripled up (at least) on the Old Bay (we like our food with a kick). I just kept adding it and tasting until I thought the flavor came through the panko. My DH, 2yo and 5yo (who is a very picky eater) loved it! I like my stuff really crunchy so I did bake the fish on a roasting rack inside of a foil lined cookie sheet. I do miss the nice brown you get when you pan fry so next time, I'll try some of the other ideas from other recipes 1)toast the bread crumbs in the oven first...OR 2)stick the fish in the broiler for 2 minutes at the end OR 3) cook at a higher temp (450) for shorter amount of time. But all in all...this is a keeper!
