Yum! We had these for dessert last night, with vanilla ice cream. They were so quick and easy to make. We rolled ours in sugar. I think next time I will double the recipe, maybe even sub bananas for the apples. Thanks for a great recipe.

Very simple - and very yummy! The texture of the fritter is bready, it's soft and fluffy inside with a nice smooth crispy outside. I cubed my apples pretty chunky and added 1/2 teaspoon on cinnamon to the batter. We dusted with powdered sugar after they cooled a bit - definately a dessert type treat for us. Thanks!

Maybe it was the type of apple I used (MacIntosh), but I didn't get a good apple flavor. They were not to sweet and nice and bready and easy to make. I think next time I will add a good amount of cinnamon to the batter. I do plan to make these again with another type of apple......Maybe Granny smith, and maybe a sugar glaze on it instead of icing sugar might be nice too. Thanks for the posting Gingerbee.

I was craving apple fritters and these were AMAZING. I did add 1 tbsp of cinnamon, and 1/8 tsp of nutmeg for that "apple pie" flavor. My son ate 5 in one sitting!

Great recipe. I had these as a kid and didn't know they were so easy to make. Next time I would use more apples (Maybe 3 or 4) and make the chunks bigger.

Not bad! The first batch I followed the directions as is and the batter was very thick, and it took some playing with heat settings to prevent from having them burnt on the outside and raw on the inside. Everyone liked them but they piled on the powdered sugar and maple syrup, so the second time I added 1/2c milk, 4 tbsp sugar, 1tsp cinnamon, 1/4tsp nutmeg and I chopped the apples in my processor with a tbsp of orange juice. Everyone raved about the second batch! Will definitely be again with the revisions. Thanks!

My son asked for apple fritters out of the blue; I'd never made them before, but found this recipe and he loved them! I did read the reveiws and decided to add cinnimon and nutmeg to the batter. Additionally, to test the oil temperature, I fried up a couple of extra slices of apples, and then chopped those up fine, added butter and powdered sugar and used this as a glaze. YUM!

These were easy to put together & had a great texture but they just tasted okay. I was frying the first batch when I realized there were no spices in the recipe. I added a healthy dose of cinnamon & nutmeg to the remainder of the batter. I used a granny smith apple but didn't get the apple flavor I expected from the first batch. The second batch was slightly better because of the spices, I believe. We ate them with maple syrup, but I really like another reviewer's idea of dressing them with a glaze. I'll try that next time. Thanks for posting Gingerbee!
