Wonderful recipe. The kids were begging for more. I did alter it a bit... I used fat free vanilla yogurt instead of Crisco and used half whole wheat flour and half white. We did not use the frosting--NO Need! I will be making this one again. It wa perfect and so filling for breakfast. Thank you!

These were very good! The banana taste really comes through! Easy, quick and the texture is cakey-like!! I'll make these again--the kids loved 'em!

These were pretty good. I thought the texture was a little weird--spongy--but I LOVED THE FROSTING!!!

I didn't have quite enough flour, so I used extra oatmeal. I didn't have walnuts so I threw in a handful of chocolate chips. I don't buy shortning, so I used a blend of half butter half margarine.... THESE WERE STILL OUTSTANDING. I can only imagine how great they would be if I could have followed the recipe. These make a fabulous breakfast bar type cookie.

Excellent! The first time I made them as described (only with pecans instead of walnuts - personal preference) and they were fantastic - though I ate entirely too much dough before baking. I got approximately 48 cookies. I'm in the middle of baking a second batch - this time I've added a couple of tablespoons of cocoa, and chocolate chips. No idea what my yield will be this time but I'm making smaller cookies (about 1.5 tbsp of dough) because I like them better when they're small. I haven't made the frosting yet - I've been eating them uniced. They're sooo good. Just sweet enough, soft, chewy, yummm. I usually don't eat my own baking but I can't keep my hands off these.

These were a great cookie. I did not use the butter flavor Crisco, just regular shortening. Did not seem to matter. I did only get 2 dozen cookies out of this. Maybe mine were bigger. I did take another reviewers suggestion and flatten them out. This one is a keeper.

I was looking for a new recipe for my over-ripe bananas. WOW!!! I love these cookies. I left out the walnuts because we didn't have any. Also, instead of frosting the cookies I "glazed" them by dipping each ball of dough into water and then sugar before baking. Thanks Christine!

My 4 yo daughter and I just made these. We love to make cookies together, especially this time of year. They are wonderful. The last batch is cooling right now. They are very addictive too. We did use Fleichman's stick margarine and they turned out fine. Did not get 5 dozen though. Had 3 cookies short of 4 dozen. They will be made again. Next time I might make them as bars. And might put some peanut butter chips in. Thanks for the great recipe!!

I love this recipe! The only thing that I did different was to add raisins to half of the batch. One son likes raisins, the other doesn't. This is a keeper. And I got 4 1/2 dozen using heaping rounded teaspoons.
