This was super delicious. I made the dark chocolate recipe. It was rich and delicious. It had a lot of shine and looked beautiful on the cake. I loved the richness of the flavor and it complimented the cake very well.

I made the dark flavor frosting. While mine wasn't as dark and shiny as the one in the picture, it did taste wonderful. I love chocolate, and I was really pleased to have a frosting that emphasized the chocolate flavor over the sugar. It seemed like a good consistency, but it was hard for me to tell because I tried to put it on a warm cake-my mistake! It worked anyway, though. I used Trader Joe's cocoa instead of Hershey's.

My kids use this each time they take treats to school. Simple enough for them to make it, flavorful enough for everyone to enjoy it.

This is truly an outstanding chocolate icing! I made the 'dark flavor' version for my Dark Chocolate Cake. FANTASTIC! The only thing I'll do differently next time is increase the amounts by 25-30%. The icing wasn't quite as thick as I'd like on the sides. Thanks for sharing such an incredible classic recipe!
