The BEST and ONLY way bacon is cooked in our house from now on... I first saw my future MIL cook bacon this way at our house in the SC mountains in a cast iron pan... I usually cook bacon on the stove or in the microwave, but both ways are so messy compared to this technique. The only thing I do differently is to put the bacon on the pan and place the pan in a COLD oven... my MIL says that way the bacon does not curl up like it has a tendency to do otherwise... Thanks for sharing!!!

You're right. This IS the best way to cook bacon. No splatters, too. Don't forget the parchment paper for easy clean up.. I just bake the whole pound of bacon and then freeze it. I roll about 3 slices at a time in plastic wrap. That way they come apart easily. Then just reheat in the microwave.

I found rather than just puting it on the parchment paper, I line my large cookie sheet that has the edge all around it, then I have a wire rack, mine has the checkerboard look so the bacon doesn't slide of, I put on top of the foil. Lay the bacon on top and then bake it. When its done all the grease is in the pan and the bacon has not been cooking in the grease. Sometimes I cut the bacon in half when I put it on the rack.

This is an excellent way to cook bacon. Perfect texture! I didn't have parchment paper so I used aluminum foil and it worked out just fine. Maybe it's my imagination, but I don't think this fills my house with the smell of bacon like cooking it on the stove or in the microwave does. Don't get me wrong - I love the smell of bacon! But I just don't like that my house smells of bacon for so long after cooking bacon. Now that I know to do it in the oven, I don't have the stinky bacon house!

I love crispy bacon ,but have always hated the mess it makes frying on the stovetop..I had to try making it this way and was pleasantly surprised how great it comes out..I placed parchment on 2 cookie sheets to accommadate 1 pound of bacon..The bacon was prefect and the clean up was fast and easy..I will difiniely be using this method from now on..I even made breakfast sausage this way, turned out nice and crispy brown, without alot of mess..Thank U!!!!!

This will be my permanent cooking method for bacon from this day forward! My husband has always been the bacon cooker in this household, but this job is currently terminated for messy clean-up. Juenessa's oven method is superior to any other bacon method I have ever used! Bacon is crisp and very tasty. No one would ever suspect that this bacon cooked in the oven rather than on the cooktop. Thank goodness Juennesa has shared this wonderful secret! Thanks so much : )

The whole family gave this a thumbs up! I didn't tell them that I cooked the bacon in the oven in this manner until after all the kudos came in. They just kept firing away with the compliments, "This is the best bacon, This is the way I like my bacon, etc." We used regular bacon. Loved the ease and cleanup. Was afraid it would make my oven a mess, but it didn't. To be honest I didn't think it would be all that different from my pan-fried bacon, but it does taste much better. This is the only way I will cook bacon from now on. Thanks for sharing.

Very simple, quick, and clean! I was using bacon crumbled for a dip so this appealed to me because I felt the bacon would be more uniformally cooked. It was! It also allowed me to actually make my dip while the bacon was cooking, instead of wasting 15 mins standing over the popping grease. This will be my go-to way of cooking bacon!

Made for "I Recommend Recipe" tag game. Wow, this was yummy and oh so easy! I usually shy away from making bacon because of the mess - DH usually does it. We'll be having bacon more often because of this recipe. I lined my baking sheet with foil before putting down the parchment paper and clean up was a breeze! Thanks Juenessa for posting this recipe!
