Ok so this has been rated 37 times before me and no one has noted how to avoid the clumps of cake mix after cooking. It's really easy, just cut in the butter while it's still cold into the cake mix like you would when making pie dough. It will be crumbly, then spoon or sprinkle over peaches. I also used can peaches, 3 drained and 1 undrained. They were 15 oz. cans. Too much liquid makes crust mushy, too little crust has uncooked spots with dry cake mix. I hope these pointers help some of us here. My 5 boys and myself LOVE this dessert regularly by stove method. Now it's even easier with the crockpot!!!1 Thank you

This is the best and easiest peach dessert I have ever had. I made it with canned light sliced peaches instead of fresh or frozen and it still was wonderful - warm and gooey and sweet. I imagine it would be even better with a little vanilla ice cream, but it was wonderful just by itself. I'll be making this for years to come.

Yooper, you made my family think I'm a real good cook with this recipe. So simple and so good. Can't wait to try it with other kinds of fruit. When I lived in New Jersey the only thing I made was reservations, now I live in an area of the South without much in the way of restaurants so I'm learning to cook thru this great site. You certainly have helped me out. Thanks.

This is a great recipe. Very rich and tasty. I used fresh peaches instead of frozen and added more than it asked for because I like to have a lot of fruit. To compensate for the juices lost from using fresh instead of frozen, I poured about 1/4-1/2 can of sprite over the top of all ingredients. It turned out wonderful. The only thing that would have made it better was a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. Thanks for posting yooper.

I admit I was more than a little concerned while putting the ingredients in the crockpot. I have never made a dessert in the crockpot before. This was sweet and sooo good. I really am impressed with the way it worked out. My local grocery store did not have the Jiffy white cake mix for some odd reason so I bought a 2 layer sized one and used only half of it. Worked great. Thank you!

Boy, this is good. This would be wonderful for a pitch-in. There's sure to be no leftovers with this one. I put a dash of nutmeg in mine. And it'd be great with blueberries or apples. Thanks.

WOW! Did this hit the spot! After digging out of over 35" of snow DS came in to this wonderful treat. I used two 15 oz cans of peaches and a yellow cake mix. Fab! It was done in less than 3 hours though, (more like two) as I increased the butter by two tablespoons. I topped the hot dessert with vanilla bean ice cream and he was in heaven! Thanks for the wonderful treat, yooper!

This is very tasty and quite rich. I think more fruit would be a good idea. I also added some crumbled walnuts just for some extra texture. I had planned on adding some fresh mango but I forgot to buy one. I'll try it next time. Thank you for a good easy dessert recipe

ooooh is this good! I used canned pears and sprinkled Spenda over it to cut back on the calories. Served it with icecream...tastes like a cobbler yummmmmm!!! Will do this with peaches next time. Even with the Spenda, it was total bliss!
