17 Reviews of Thick and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are perfect!Just the right amount of chewiness! I used unsalted cultured butter instead (never send a man to the grocery store for baking items). I don't know if that made any difference to the taste, but they taste great. They bake exactly as stated in the recipe, they're ready when the outer edges are starting to harden, and the centers are soft and puffy. By the way, if you don't buy the butter in sticks, and just in a block, 12 tablespoons is 3/4 of a cup as 4 tablespoons is 1/4 of a cup. Thanks for the great recipe, this one is going in my recipe box.

This is a terrific choco chip cookie recipe! I store mine in an air tight container, and they are even softer and chewier the next day. Thank you!

I have to say that your claim that these remain thick and chewy is absolutely TRUE. These have a great crispy edge texture but are chewy on the inside! Just what I was looking for in my search for a great chocolate chip cookie. Mine cooked up great in 13 minutes! Made for Zaar Chef Alphabet Soup tag game, May 2008.

WOW! These just came out of the oven and they are absolutely beautiful! Me and my mom each tried one and they are most certainly a 5-STAR cookie!!! And I'm not much of a fan of cookies coming right out of the oven but these are good! I can't wait to try one once they're cooled! I followed the recipe exactly except mine took a little longer than 15 min. to bake. But that's probably because I made mine slightly larger than a teaspoonful... Haha, I was going for a bakery style kind of cookie... Thanks for a wonderful cookie recipe! I've tried many other ccc recipes on this site and so far this one is the best! Thanks a bunch!!! <3

Great cookies! The cookies were much thicker and chewier than most, which we loved. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they seemed very sugary. My family did really like these and I will make them again. The thickness of this cookie is the real selling point. Thanks for posting!!

These worked well. I don't even like chocolate chip cookies and these were wonderful. I always love Cook's Illustrated so I needed to try these and I'm glad I did. They live up to their claim of thick and chewy plus I would add yummy. Thanks for posting.

Much better than Toll House, with less butter! 13 minutes was perfect for baking. I added a few pecan chips.
