This was a great pozole! I did make some alterations to the recipe. I added three pigs feet! for flavor on the advice of a Mexican friend. I had the butcher quarter them. (You can always remove them after cooking and not eat them if you don't like pigs feet...but they do add excellent flavor! Also, when making the ancho chile sauce, might want to reduce the salt...1 tablespoon made a really salty sauce...however, when added to the pozole...it was diluted somewhat. This really was a very easy recipe with awesome results! First time I have made pozole...and I will use this recipe again and again. It is a keeper!

I made this with 1 lb of chicken breast and 1 lb of pork loin that in a crock pot to reduce the fat. This was a WONDERFUL soup, the best I have had in a long time...

This recipe was excellent. My boyfriend has wanted me to make pozole for a year and i just never got around to it till now. We both loved it. Very spicy... the hotter the better!!!

Excellent recipe as far as results go, but confusing on a couple of the steps. Example: How can you saute the onions and garlic in step #9 after having added it to the sauce pot in step #6? Also, the 2 cloves of garlic were listed twice in the ingredients list, once peeled and the other chopped. Is that 4 cloves or 3? Of course one peels before chopping, but it had me wondering how much I needed. But it was a great hit at home and easy to make.

Great recipe! I have made this a bunch of times for get-togethers, and it always goes! I have also substituted chicken for the pork, and it turns out just as fantastic! Thanks for posting this!

Razzle, I have made this twice now and forgot to review it! This is so awesome that I find myself craving it sometimes. The first time I made it I didn't have the garnishes and it was still great but the garnishes really make it! Thanx for posting!!!

Very tasty. The flavor is great and easy to put together. The only thing is that it was a bit spicy for me but my family loves it.

WE LOVE, and my honey actually likes his veggies (garnishes). subbed precooked pork, added the cumin and oregano with other spices. subbed 1 cup chopped jalapenos for the canned chilis. suated them wiht the onion and garlic. prefer the juanita's brand hominy. better flavor, texture, and less additives. used only 1/2 tbsp salt. for work lunches, chop garnishs sprinkle with lemon juice. when time to eat heat soup and dump veggies on top. use atleast a whole bunch of cilantro.

Picky DH gave it high praise and cleaned his bowl and mine! Had leftover pork loin roast from Sunday dinner and 1 can hominy. Used recipe in slightly different proportions, for 2 people, lacked last 2 ingredients. One large bowl each with fresh flour tortillas. Will definitely make again.

Lovely flavor! This keeps my husband around, or at least home in time for dinner. LOL I use pork chops instead of the shoulder and still comes out wonderful. A must have is cabbage, radish, lime, and cilantro for garnishment. Try it you'll love it!
