8 Reviews of Fish Stick Po’ Boys With Spicy Mayonnaise

From: MomEof3

On Oct 12, 2006

I saw this posted today and it gave me inspiration to use the frozen fish in my frezzer. I used 6 garlic and herb crunchy filets. I cut them in half to fit into hot dog buns (left over from the other night). And for the mayonnaise I added a couple of dashed of Franks hot sauce, 1 tsp of dill pickel relish and a dash of Mrs. Dash. Served with some Pringles Salt and Vinegar chips. It made a great after school snack.

I don't ever have frozen fish sticks in my freezer, but this recipe appealed to me and I bought some. Glad I did! I used bakery cheese rolls and the sandwiches were really good! Thanks for sharing, Sandi!

Like other reviewers, I used this recipe as inspiration. I was really tired, and my kitchen was a mess, but I wanted something new and good and this looked good to me. I got some good frozen fish and good submarine buns-I added a slice of cheese to the tomato slices and used Mille's Mexican Slaw (#27499)instead of the lettuce and spicy mayonnaise - so it was kind of a different recipe, but it was the same idea and it was so good! My husband and I loved it. Thanks for posting!

Quite yummy! Great inspiration for an otherwise sure to be boring dinner. :o) I loved the sauce you suggested (tobasco is a staple to me,) although my hubby used 1000 island. I also added some sliced/mashed avocado to mine, and we used some sesame seed burger buns.

I only needed to make one single Po' Boy for little ol' me so I used a toasted sesame seed hamburger bun and changed the svg size to one. But I baked 4 servings of fish sticks. (Quicker sandwiches later if they are good!) Otherwise I made as instructed. I can't BELIEVE I've never thought to put fish sticks on a bun! What a great sandwich! It was so good that I made and ate another one with a side of Doritos. Now I have to go get on the treadmill! Thanks for the great idea! I'm sure to throw these together often.

This is a simple way to dress up plain old convenience foods. I used Mrs. Paul's Crunchy Fish Fillets and whole wheat hot dog buns. My hot sauce was the garlic version of Tabasco sauce. Served with a salad and Oven Baked French Fries, I cleared things out of my freezer and produced an OK meal on a night that I felt very lazy.

Mmmmm. I bought a GIANT bag of really cheap fish sticks that was on sale and this was great way to use them. I used romaine instead of iceberg and I used Sriracha (thai chili sauce). I also used a fat free mayo. Slap Hands for this one, Sandi! Nice
