SaraFish, thanks for posting such a wonderful recipe. What a treat for me and my dinner guests! It is so easy to make, and I loved the garlic/cheeses. Since I was getting all the dinner together and was in the "kitchen rush mode" I used the oven instead of the micro, and it came out just when I wanted it to, and hot. I have a recipe similar, but wanted to try yours, and I'm glad I did.

WOW!!! SaraFish this cheese spread is to die for. I made this for our bread and served with spaghetti. Oh, what a feast we had. The spread was so easy to make and spread over the bread very nicely. I used sour dough like you suggested but this would work on any kind of bread. Thank you. Gladys

Very good recipe! I usually season too much or too little when I make garlic bread. This was just right. I used an italian cheese blend instead of cheddar and it was delicious! I look forward to using this recipe at a family party. Thanks for sharing!

We usually just buy the ready made garlic loaf from the bakery section at the grocery store and sometimes shred cheddar or mozza, or a mixture of both to put on it before baking. Had leftover spaghetti on the spur of the moment, so did not have any garlic bread on hand. I remembered I had this in my cookbook and had all the ingredients to make the topping, didn't have the proper bread though, so we split some sub buns that were in the freezer and put it on those! It was really good, but would be much better on the right bread I'm sure. I added about 1/2 tsp. parsley to the spread. Will make this again sometime using the french bread, thanks Sarafish!

Best recipe I have found yet for garlic spread. My finicky kids love this stuff. Its also good without the cheddar cheese (double the parmesan) as a simple spread.

I think this recipe was very tasty! Only thing I will change next time is to use butter instead of margarine. There is just too much water in margarine and it caused my bread to be soggy in some spots. I also but the bread under a broiler to brown the cheese a little more. This is a very good recipe just needs a little tweaking for my family. Thanks SaraFish for a great tasting spread

My entire family LOVED this recipe--even picky eaters! I only used part of the mix for garlic bread & ended up using the rest for cheesy garlic mashed potatoes..yummy!! Thank you!!

Wonderful - Wonderful. Not to good for the diet but well worth it. Thanks for posting.

Yummy! Used 1/2 c butter and some artisan sourdough bread. A nice change from regular garlic bread, and the cheddar makes this recipe a little different, and a little more versatile. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
