We just ate in an authentic German restaurant and had latkes - so my husband was dying for me to make some at home. I mixed these up - omitting the parsley - and before I got them to the table, he had eaten half of them - and then complained there weren't enough for dinner!! Guess I'll be making these again - thanks Kittencal!

This is how I like my Potato Cakes..and have been making them like this since I can remember. Yummy. Can't beat this recipe. I usually use the salt..I like your idea of cayenne pepper and garlic powder. I love garlic anyway and will have to try that. As usual another good one! Thanks for writing it's a winner!

Is there anything you can't cook? I made these the other night, expecting that if it came from you, it Had to be good! Well, you didn't disappoint this time either! I followed it to the letter, and it was hard keeping them long enough to get to the table! I served them as a side dish, and they easily could've been the main star! Thanks again for posting a true winner. Will always check in to see more of your "goodies"!!

My grandma used to make delicious potato patties but she died when I was a teenager so I never got the recipe(was too busy chasing boys to cook lol) but these are spot-on to what I remember. I changed it a little because I don't remember her using very much onion- I used less and a little more potato than recommended. This recipe was fantastic!

My family loved these! My Jewish father-in-law couldn't get enough and my six year old son was eating them right out of the grease
I only had 6 hours to soak them to I squeezed the starch out two times and changed the water. They were deliciously crispy. Next time I would add a lot more green onions. Awesome recipe - will definitely use again.

I was wanting a recipe for hash browns and came across this recipe.. I have stopped looking!! These were fantastic, easy and the taste surpassed what I was expecting. I hardly got them onto a plate,,, they were being attacked while still cooking and no complaints about the trees (parsley) I have frozen the remainder and had some this morning. They really cooked up as if they had just just been prepared. I can certainly see myself making more of these. Thanks Kittencal for this awesome recipe... + 5 stars from my husband!!!!

Even my Jewish boyfriend said they were good! In fact, he said that Tuesday may have been his best latke experience ever.... YES! They seem really simple (I did add the parsley and plenty of green onion but no cayenne or garlic) but the taste is wonderful! Thank you

Yum, these cooked up nice and crispy! I served with ketchup, my husband liked them along with his turkey sausages. Thanks!

LOVED it! So simple yet so flavorful...that's what I like in a recipe. I did use the optional parsley, don't leave it out.

Delicious! I omitted the parsley and served them with applesauce for lunch.
