8 Reviews of Black Forest Cookies

From: Amy #2

On Jan 24, 2007

I made these last weekend (have that issue of everyday food) and they are DELICIOUS...very chocolaty...my grocer didn't have dried cherries so I used cherry flavored Craisins and they were good...a big hit at the party I brought them to

Great cookies! I only had one cup of dried cherries, so I added half a cup of cherry jam. Also, I mistakenly bought milk choc chips instead of dark ones, but the cookies still turned out awesome. Thank you for sharing.

Outstanding cookies! Very rich and very chocolately, reminiscent of brownies. The chocolate chunks and dried cherries are a wonderful combo. I melted the chocolate and butter in the microwave and subbed light brown sugar for the dark brown. This was one of my choices for the Pick A Chef game--I made an excellent choice! Thanks for posting the recipe!

These were a big hit when I took them to work. I did make one slight change: I only had 1 cup of dried cherries, so I added a cup of gummy raspberries. This recipes definitely a keeper!! Thanks for sharing.

Only problem I has was keeping the family out of the dried cherries long enough to get them in the batter. They also freeze well-just kept scooping out and rolling into balls, then dropped in freezer bags.

I tried these because I love chocolate & dried cherries but a cake would go to waste in our house. They were a HUGE hit. My husband prefers them warm from the oven or rewarmed in the microwave. I agree. My 2 year loved them and at least the cherries were healthy.

Amazing! Gave these as a gift to a friend for her birthday because she LOVES black forest cake. Everyone at the party that tried one loved them. Got to keep a few for myself and they were really good. I ended up having to cook them a little bit longer than the time in the recipe - more like 15 minutes.

These were fabulous cookies. I made a big double batch for my holiday baking, and these were my favorite by far. They were easy to make, and wonderfully rich. I highly recommend these to anyone who likes the combination of fruit and chocolate. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
