This is a FABULOUS recipe! I made this and took it when I went babysitting yesterday and the kids LOVED it. Not only was it nut free (I have a nut allergy), but it was also not made with flour (as I have a wheat allergy). Usually I have to get my mom to make play dough for me to take babysitting and then I have to get the children to help me clean up the mess afterwards. But this time I got to play along! Thank you for the GREAT recipe Paula. This will be used for years and years, especially some day when I have children of my own! Thanks for sharing!

I halved this recipe and followed carefully, thinking it would make a cute secret santa gift, and ended up with a sticky mess. I tried adding more sugar, then even flour, but the closest to play-dough I got was slime. As my last resort I made a batch of brownies and used it as an icing so I wouldn't have to waste it. It made a tasty, festive icing at least!

Great recipe for toddlers with allergies!!! It does take a lot of powdered sugar to get the right texture. Easy enough to make that kids could help. Will definitely make again.

I followed just as written with the exception of guessing on the amount of powdered sugar I used 1/2 of a 2 lbs bag. and I used shortning since I only had frozen butter on hand. It melted after a little while of play, and the taste wasn't all that great. But it was great for a 2 yo that likes to eat everything that she plays with. It was really quite good dough other then the melting part and that was after several hours out, and playing with it. A great idea and change of pace.
