This recipe has to be one of the BEST ones I have found on this website! I need some hamburger buns for dinner tonight and I didn feel like running to the sotre or spending hours making bread again. So I read the title and thought there is NO way that this is possible... 40 minutes hamburger buns, no way.... But I was desperate. But oh was I wrong about these bad boys! They puffed up in the oven beautifuly and are soft and fluffy on the inside. I could not belive how easy these are to make and how fast they come together. I even cut the recipe in half and they turned out great. Took about 10 minutes to bake. Thank you SO much for posting this. This is a dinner/lunch saver! UPDATE: just made these again today and I cut the recipe in half again but this time made 4 buns that were the perfect size instead of 6, if you make 6 hamburger buns you get more dinner roll sized buns. Also these buns expand A LOT in the oven so beware of that too, so space them at LEAST 3 inches apart. So happy I found this recipe!

These were great! I used 1 and a half cups white flour and one-half cup whole wheat flour. These rose fast, and they really only take forty minutes!!

I've used this many, many times and they cook up so nice--even if you make them as regular rolls, cinnamon rolls, etc. Endless possibilities!! They have really great flavor for being so quick to make! Thanks for posting this!

The first time I made these, they didnt rise a much as I would of hoped..I let it stand a little longer than 5 minutes,my fault I got side tracked..The next time I made these i did add 1/2 tblsp more yeast, omitted the 2 tblsp extra water..It made 8 nice buns.I did brush the tops with butter after baking...They stayed moist longer than other recipes I have tried.Tasted great. And held together better than store bought..40 minutes exactly....This will be my regular hamberger bun recipe from now on..Thank U for the recipe..

Excellent 5 star recipe! I was a little surprised at the 2 TBSP of yeast and thought it might be too much, but I followed the recipe to a T and these were great. I made the buns just a little on the large side and came out with 8 buns. My KitchenAid mixer did the kneading. I'll be making these often. Thank you!

Fantastic!!! I make this recipe often. Photos show rolls and cinnamon buns. The buns take 50 minutes, double recipe, roll out, spread margarine, brown sugar and cinnamon, roll up, cut, let set 10 minutes, bake at 375* or 400" until puffed and brown. This recipe is for cooks who do not have time. This recipe should be in the "top 100" because it is so adaptable, quick easy.

This is a GREAT recipe. I don't like store bought buns but making them always took so long, but now...wow. I live out in the country so a trip to the store takes time. I had all the ingredients except eggs (used them all up making biscotti earlier) so I just left it out. Used 1 1/2 c. whole wheat pastry flour & 2 Tblsp. freshly ground up flax seeds to increase the nutritional value, & since I had some wheat gluten I added 2 tsp. of that as I read that some thought they were too dense. They are delicious, & as someone else said I will never buy store bought again! Thanks!

Taste wise these were very good. However, I halved the recipe and substituted applesauce for the oil and cut it into 6 equal balls and they were far too small to be hamburger buns. I would suggest forming into balls then patting down to get a more flat wider bun than a thick fat one. All in all, an okay recipe, just not what i expected.

These were so easy to make. They just came out of the oven and they taste really good. They are a little dense, but they hold up awesome for hamburgers. The best thing about these is they take very little time to make and only 10 minutes to rise. I cooked mine 9 minutes and I made bigger buns and got 6 total.

These were not only fast and easy to make, but very nice flavor as well. I've never made homemade hamburger buns before. We used these with sloppy joe's and I definitely am going to make this again when we make hamburgers. I only used 3 cups of flour and the texture was very soft. They baked up perfectly in 11 minutes (I am at high altitude above 5000 ft). Thanks for a great recipe!
