I had company for Sunday dinner and this recipe was a star!! Bev, you are right, it is so easy to make and has a wonderful lemon flavor. I followed the directions exactly, and everything was perfect. I did make them on Saturday and they kept very well.................well, there were a few pieces missing when dinner time came, but I put the dessert on individual plates, so guests couldn't see the gaping hole!!! Very good, and this will definately go in m T&T book. Thanks Bev, for posting one of your family favorites.

I had a craving for something other than chocolate for a change. I picked a winner in making your Lemon Squares! I loved the coconut added to the crust, it added a little bit more texture. While I was at it, I added some to the filling. As it cooked, the coconut formed a thin chewey layer on top. Best of all, it wasn't overly sweet like some others I have tasted. Didn't even miss the chocolate!

To: Bev My oh My, these Lemon Squares are delicious! They have just the right touch of lemon and coconut. Easy, easy to put together, as well. I took the liberty of adding lemon zest to the filling. They're a 5-star keeper!! Thanks for posting. Laudee C.

Perfect lemony flavor and perfect to cut and serve. So many are difficult to get out of the pan, but these were perfect in EVERY WAY. I halved the recipe because I was trying Splenda instead of sugar. It worked great, so next time I'll make the entire batch. Thanks for posting!!

Bev, I really thought I had already found the best recipe for lemon bars, but no way, this one is the best by far! These bars are exceptional, and so lemony. I used real butter for the crust of coarse, and it was so light and flakey, almost like a shortbread cookie! Thanks for posting this great recipe, my lemon-lovin' DH and DS really enjoyed them, this is my new favorite!...Kitten

Bev: Thank you for this wonderful recipe. I was looking for recipes to convert for a low-sodium diet, and this just fit the bill! All I had to do was substitute no-sodium baking powder for regular. Using a 13x9x2 baking pan,the recipe is easy to cut into 36 squares at ONLY 15 MG SODIUM FOR EACH SQUARE! My poor, half-starved step-mother had an absolute field day. She splurged and devoured four pieces! Thanks again.

Oh wow! These were great! I made them exactly to the recipe. The base was just perfect and I'll be using it as a standard recipe for shortcrust pastry from now on. The lemony topping was exactly lemony enough. In my fan-forced oven, I reduced cooking times by 5 minutes each for both the base and the topping. Otherwise I didn't and wouldn't change a thing! Bliss!

Excellent! I am not much of a baker, so was nervous about serving them to 20 women at a party. They loved them!DH said they were the best lemon bars he had ever had.

Tried to make this as per recipe but found the base very crumbly, ended up adding extra melted butter to raw base mix in order to get it to bind better but still ended up quite crumbly when cooked. Found topping was not lemony enough so if I was to make it again would probably use more lemon juice. I only used 1 3/4 cups sugar in topping & was still very sweet so would probaly cut that down a little further if making again also. Despite my problems with preparation of this it was still a nice slice and would make it again. Thanks for posting!
