DBF thought these were good and he especially loved the shallots with the milder flavor they added. Was a nice way to do fresh green beans. I halved the recipe and it worked out fine for us, I also used a cast iron skillet. Thanks lazyme!

An excellent way to make green beans extra special. I did halve the recipe to serve the four of us and they were all gone. I will make this again. Thanks, lazyme!

These were really nice. My dh & I loved them, the texture and the flavour were excellant and I loved how fast and easy they were to make. I used frozen whole green and yellow beans and maple sugar bacon, they worked really well in this dish. Thanks so much for sharing Lazyme. I see endless possibilities.

These were a very tasty, quick and easy way to dress up green beans. I halved the recipe and used frozen green beans. In an effort to make this slightly healthier, I also poured off all the bacon fat and just used what reamained in the bottom of the skillet to saute the shallot (no butter added). Oh yeah, for me 1 lg shallot = 1/3 cup. Thanks for posting!

These were wonderful & so easy to prepare that DH did the sauteing for me! I served them for our Christmas Eve celebrations with Perfect Prime Rib & twice baked potatoes - what a fabulous meal! Thanks lazyme for sharing another keeper.

This recipe was fantastic. My kids like beans, but loved this recipe. This is definitely a keeper!

Wonderful green beans, in fact, I ate two helpings!!! I made them as written with two exceptions, used canned green beans and onions instead of shallots, as is what I had on hand. Great way to really add some flavor to plain old green beans. Thanks for posting another great recipe Lazyme. Made in honor of your win in the football pool.

I really love this method of cooking - really makes for a more elegant end-product. I cooked the beans for 5 minutes and the result was still very "crisp-tender". Next time I'll cook them 6 minutes so that we lean more towards the tender (my preference only). The shallots did make for a very mild taste - the whole effect was simply delicious and beautiful to look at as well. Definitely dinner-party worthy - thanks!
