These are wonderful. I am southern and am embarassed to say that every time I have ever tried to make buscuits they came out like little rocks. They could have easily been considered lethal weapons. Thank you so much for posting. Very easy and very good.

These were terrific biscuits to go with Sausage Gravy. They were very quick and very easy to make (...this from a person who often uses that all purpose 'yellow box' for biscuits.) I didn't have shortening on hand and so I substituted butter (4T). It worked fine. Not only were these biscuits flaky, but had a nice golden color. I can tell why you've been making these for 40 years. Thanks!

I have finally found the perfect biscuits! I also didn't have any shortening in the kitchen so I used butter instead and tried buttermilk in place of milk. They came out excellent! There aren't enough words in the English language to describe how good they are! Even my husband is impressed and he's even more picky than those Iron Chef and Iron Chef America judges!!!

I was looking for a quick simple and good biscuit recipe. I came across this one and tired it. I used AP flour and I think I should of use SR instead. The biscuits did rise somewhat but they turned out hard on the outside and somewhat okish on the inside. They wasn't very tasty like I was hoping. I was thinking they would turn out light and fluffy but they didn't. So next time I do, which I will, I will use the SR flour and see what happens... Thanks for posting!

I think I did something wrong as they didn't rise much. I checked the baking powder and it was in date. I'm going to toss it and try again.
