These were great cookies, and very festive looking on my Christmas goody trays! The others were right-- not too sweet. I like sweet, so I also made a glaze with the cherry juice and powdered sugar, and sprinkled them with red crystal sugar while the glaze was still wet. Very easy and quick to prepare, as well! Thanks Di!

These had exactly the flavor I remember from MY grandmother's recipe. Not too sweet (so just perfect for my taste!). Thanks, DI!!

These were great!! Not too sweet, but full of cherry flavor. In our house, we're divided on sweetness, so I mixed a little of the cherry juice with confectioners sugar and made a glaze. I drizzled it over half of them and left the remainder just the way they were. I'll definitely make them again.

Very good and just darling looking. The brights bursts of color from the juicy cherry pieces are really lovely and pack a lot of flavor. Beautiful for a baby shower or a holiday cookie tray. I found these a little too floury tasting, however and would try reducing the flour a bit next time. I like the idea one reviewer had of drizzling some icing over the top - I may try that enxt time too.

A friend I work with introduced me to these cookies. In her recipe she uses almond extract instead of the vanilla. We also make a glaze with the powdered sugar and cherry juice and add a tsp of almond extract to that also.

Made these last night and everyone loved them. I added 3 TB of almond extract and rolled half of them in powdered sugar and left half plain. Thanks for a great recipe that will be part of our christmas tray's from now on.. Very festive looking too..

We have a fondness for cherry cookies and these were so tasty. I used only 2 cups flour, since a previous review said they were crumbly and it worked great. They'll make a nice addition to my holiday cookie tray!

Everyone loved these cookies. My husband who isn't much of a cookie eater couldn't stop eating them. I frosted them with powdered sugar frosting using a lil of the cherry juice for flavoring. And then I had some melted almond bark from some other cookies i drizzled on top. Chocolate covered cherry cookies.

The dough was extremely uncooperative with the cherries! Of course being the neurotic I am, I took this phenomenon as my own shortcomings as a bakeress. Still, once I smelled this yummy berry cookie, my cherry cravings were sated. They were less sweet than I'm used to, so the aforementioned glaze is probably necessary, especially if you're feeding children ... or boyfriends. Same difference.
