Our favorite cookie recipe- turns out perfectly every time. Be sure to use real butter, and to sift the dry ingredients. Don't overmix when you combine with the wet ingredients, and DO NOT OVERBAKE! We like to make this with choclate chips and M&M's. Yum!! ***UPDATE*** Since this recipe makes a huge batch, we have started making our own break and bake cookies. We immediately take half of the fully mixed dough and press it into the bottom of a 9x13 pan lined with parchment and pop it into the freezer. About an hour later (or after the remaining dough has been baked) we take it out and gently score the dough into 1" squares (but not cutting them apart), then put into a freezer zip bag and label with the date. When we want cookies, we simply pull out the dough and let it thaw on the counter for about a half hour, then break the squares apart and bake as directed in a preheated oven. Perfect!

After making these, I threw out my other chocolate chip cookie recipe!!They are soooo good. They bake up nice and thick, and stay soft and chewy for days...if you can keep them around that long! I only use about twleve ounces of chips, but I do everything else the same way. I think I'll have to whip some up today....mmmmm

These were excellent! Very soft and chewy, just like my men like them! (It was so hard not to eat all the dough!) Thanks for posting, tigra! UPDATE: Just had to let you know that this recipe, minus the eggs, makes awesome edible cookie dough! I added 1/4 c. whipping cream, for a smoother consistency, and also about a 1/3 pkg. of instant vanilla pudding. It's too hot to bake here, right now, so this totally fits the cookie craving bill!

Great tasting cookies warm from the oven. Like another reviewer, I found that I had to add more flour to get a dough that wasn't liquid. I tried one pan with the golf ball sized dough portions and they really spread and made huge cookies (that sort of ran together). Hugh cookies aren't my preference, so I made the rest smaller (it made a ton!). Very tasty, thanks for posting.

I found this on Top Secret Recipes too, and it's a keeper. I did have to bake mine a little longer than 9 minutes because the entire cookie was soft, but it might be that I made the cookies a little larger than golf balls. Overall, this is an award winner for taste, and I'm not a chocolate cookie lover. Thanks for posting!

These cookies were fantastic. I agree that they are NOT just like Mrs. Fields, but still make a phenominal cookie! My DH loved these. The key like many people have stated, is definitely not to overcook there. We are going to make these again and try using makybe M&Mls or mayb ebutterscotch chips... Thanks for a great recipe!

This is by far the best chocolate chip cookie recipe I've ever tried. It's exactly what I've been searching for all these years! I made a half batch and it worked wonderfully. Next time I think I'll mix up the full batch and try what lizbits suggests and freeze them for later use. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe.

I have had this recipe for years having also found it on top secret recipes. It is a fabulous cookie and it really hits the spot. Living in a country where there is no Mrs Fields franchise, these cookies were even more appreciated by my friends and family with one friend refusing to leave my house until I gave her the recipe. My only complaint is that I find the recipe needs more flour or else my cookies just spread out very thinly in a single layer in the pan. It must have something to do with the flour in Greece as I have had similar problems with other recipes. I add half to one cup extra flour and it works out just fine.
