I'm not a huge chocolate fan, so I'm rating this based on the reaction of the chocoholics in the family. The three of them were speechless. Between grunts, I heard the word "amazing" over and over. An obvious hit in this house.

This is a very nice cake. I only made 1/2 of the recipe. It still made a lovely tall cake It was light, moist and tender, with a lovely chocolate flavour. The frosting was delicious Thank you so much for sharing Tom&Candy.

Thank you for posting such a gret cake recipe. It soothed my resident chocoholic's cravings! His favorite is choc cake w/choc icing. He ate one large piece and asked for another immediately. The cake was easy to make, as well as greasing and flouring the cake pans, i also used parchment paper. The cakes came out with no problem. I used 2 whole sticks of butter in the frosting and 1 1/2 boxes of confectioner's sugar. Didn't bother to measure. It came out wonderful. Thanks tom and candy for posting such a great tasting recipoe.

If you are a chocolate lover, you have got to try this cake. It is so fudgy and rich. I made this for a co-workers birthday and now I am printing out copies of the recipe because everyone loved it!!

The thing you need to know about this cake is the fudgey-ness of it all-- So many times a recipe will promise fudgey, but not deliver-- this is AMAZING! I even tried to ruin it by using grapeseed oil-- it's all I had--- and I was too cheap to go the expensive grocery store near by to buy a more suitable oil. However, my choice of oil didn't seem to matter, as it turned out to be one of the best cakes I have ever made and the fam seemed to agree! Thanks Tom&Candy, this one goes in my "Best of Zaar so far" cookbook. KC Shell

Extremely good!! I was craving chocolate and boy did this ever hit the spot. I made half the recipe and it turned out great. I was slightly concerned when pouring the batter into the pans because it had such a thin consistency, but they cooked up just fine. Thank you Tom&Candy for such a great cake recipe!
