Hi MizzNezz; These are the most scrumptous, crispy and easy to make ONION RINGS. They cooked so quickly and had a nice golden brown color. They are the best that I have ever made or had for that matter. Took me a while to find your recipe. I got a craving for Onion Rings and started to look through the ZAAR, and there you were, how lucky for us. Will be passing your recipe on to all my friends. Thank you for posting and sharing with us. "Uncle Bill"

I have tried several recipes for onion rings lately and this recipe is by-far the best I have yet to try. The baking powder makes the batter puff up around the sliced onion and is um um good! The most difficult part about making them is trying to keep from eating them before they get to the table!

These turned out so great! The onions were cooked perfectly and don't pull out of the crispy outside when you bite down on them. Definitely some of the best onion rings I've ever had. We didn't change a thing about the recipe and I was actually surprised that the batter puffed up so nicely on the rings because it was so thin. These were awesome dipped in fry sauce and we'll definitely make them again!

I made this recepie, but forgot to add 1/4 cup oil to the batter. This made them not greasy at all - just perfect. I made it again w/ the oil, and it was very greasy as stated in prior reviews - I would recommend to omit the oil from the batter. I also added an additional 1/2 tsp salt; 1tsp black pepper and 1 tsp cayanne pepper to the batter - nice snap to it!

Really great! I decided not to use the oil on the recommendations of others and they were delicious. I'm not usually one for babysitting a pan but these were worth it. Also, I can see adding some additional spice to the batter like cayenne or dry mustard. Definately a play around with worthy. I will absolutely make these again! Thanks!

I'm giving 5 stars because this recipe worked so well. The batter stuck well to the onion rings and they puffed up nicely. The taste was a little bland though. I added 1/2 tsp. seasoning salt and 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper and it was still a little bland for us. Next time I would double those seasonings.

I love onion rings but have never tried making them myself. This was quick and easy and perfectly crispy. The leftovers reheated nicely in the oven too. Thank you!

Thank you so much for this recipe!I added some salt, garlic powder and cayenne pepper to the flour, but it really would have been fine without the addition. We have made ourselves absolutely sick on these! They sure are pretty looking onion rings as well as tasting great, impressive enough to make for company. I could go on and on. WOW. Thank you....PeggyLynn

Found this one and decided to try it. DH and I are always on the hunt for a decent "do at home" onion ring recipe and boy did this one fit the bill!! Taking notes from previous reviews, we did decide to omit the oil, and honestly they were still incredible. I did fix the recipe and tried a batch exactly as directed, then "doctored" a lil, to our taste. I added another 1/2tsp of salt and a 1/2tsp of cayenne as well as double dipped for the thicker crunch. We're southern and love anything crispy. lol. These are by far, the best tasting onion rings we've found for do at home. A definite do again in our house!! Thanks for sharing.

4 large onions seemed to be to many. we ate about 30 onion rings each. But my god they were good.
