28 Reviews of Anzac Biscuits

Great recipe. Had a craving for some ANZAC biscuits and these were great. A quick note for the Yanks though - it's considered blasphemous to alter this recipe. Every one of our Veterans would have heart failure to hear that cocoa and chocolate topping were being put in ANZAC bikkies. Just leave them as is - it's the only respectful way to enjoy them.

Yum, these were good. DB loves them. Thanks, will make it again. For variation you can add two teaspoons of cocoa powder to the dough, and top the baked and cooled bisuits with baking chocolate.

Yes, the mix is a little dry. I used 2 US TBS of Corn Syrup and water and all worked well. Thanks.

Superb ! Aussie biscuits are the best in the world. Note they are called biscuits in Oz and not cookies !

Great flavor; good crispy texture. I added a bit of salt and a bit more water to get the dough to hold together. I baked at 325 and 20 minutes was too long and they got almost burned. Fifteen minutes would have been enough at that temperature in my oven.

My Girl Scout troop is representing Australia in an upcoming World Thinking Day event, and we wanted to try some authentic Aussie recipes. Despite the puzzled looks I got when I called them "biscuits", they were extremely well-received. We all loved them and will make them a tradition in our American household. Thanks for sharing!

I rarely make biscuits but after reading a really interesting post about Anzac Day here I decided to make these to celebrate the day! So easy to make and with ingreadients that I had already. I used a large teaspoon to measure out the mixture and got 20 biscuits. The oats and coconut are a great combination. They hardly had a chance to cool before they disappeared! Thanks for a delicious simple recipe.

Made this for ANZAC Day 25th April, and they were great. Nice and buttery, one of best versions for this recipe. Makes about 12 nice big cookies.
