Outstanding recipe, Mirj. The potatoes were very tender. I used green onions with the tops (I like the green part). These babies were euphoric, soothing, creamy. Easy to prepare and easier to cook in the crockpot. This one goes in the t&t cookbook for my house.

I couldn't help it.... I added 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese into the layers of potato and cream cheese. Served with crispy crumbled bacon and more sliced green onion and this was like a loaded Maine baked potato meets comforting, cheesy, creamy potato gratin! Absolutely wonderful and so easy with the slow cooker. Thanks so much for this great recipe.

Another winner from Mirjam! These potatoes were excellent! Made enough so I'd have leftovers. I could hardly keep my spoon out of the crockpot while they cooked, and the aroma was driving me out of my mind. The prep time says 10 minutes and it took me longer than that, but who cares. They were worth all the time it took. Thanks, Mirjam!

These were very good. Nice easy dish and the garlic really added a good flavor. Only change I might make is to add other cheeses next time.

We really enjoyed these. Very easy to make and they have awesome flavor. Next time I will play around and other other cheese or spices. Mirj, another winner in my book.

The potatoes took almost five hours to get to the point where they weren't still crunchy, and by then the cream cheese had dried to a sort of film all over everything. It tasted fabulous when I stirred it at the two-hour mark, so I know this was probably really good. I'm going to try it again, but I'll par-boil the potatoes before I put them in the crock pot next time. If it works out better, I'll review again.

Oh, this turned out just awful. The potatoes were very, very dry, and the garlic taste was just too sharp. I thought it would be great because of the cream cheese, but it was so dry you could barely even tell there was cream cheese in it. I'm sorry to give a bad review, but I have to just throw these potatoes out because no one here will eat them.

I sampled this dish before serving. The mixture was dry, and lacks flavour. I made a half recipe of cheese sauce, add added it before serving. I would not make these again.

Well, after all of the rave reviews I was really looking forward to this one. It gets points for using the slow cooker. However the garlic/spring onion combo is a bit tasteless. I added a LOT more garlic which was much more satisfying. My toddler took about 2 bites then tipped it on the floor, and then even the dog wouldn't touch it. Makes a good base recipe but I would add some more liquid eg to make sure that it doesn't get dry. Needs more flavouring - I would go for a little lemon myrtle next time. Another way to go would be to use some nutmeg and go for that European taste. Fake bacon [we're vegetarian] would be useful too. Well, euphoric is a bit of a misnomer but it does sound better than "Not bad, fair to middling" potatoes.

I made this last night and it was YUMMY! The only thing I did different, was I added some cheddar cheese, and put it in the crock-pot for 2 hrs and then baked it in the oven for about 50 min after that. Thanks alot!
