Each and every time I make mashed potatoes I wing/guess the butter and milk. More often than not, I use too much milk and they are a bit wet. Thank you for posting your recipe as this is the first time I've made great mashed potatoes! Better yet I'll be able to do it time and time again (always a surprise in the past) for which my family is very grateful.

Thank You so very much. This is a must for me. I have made so many mashed potatoes that have been to dry or watery. You have done a good job at posting this. Thank You

I have never been able to make decent mashed potatoes, and have been too embarrassed to ask for exact measurements - I'm the sort of person that needs recipes spelled out for me. I had started using boxed mashed potatoes, then saw this recipe and gave it a try. For the first time in my life, I made perfect mashed potatoes! Thank you!

Good Taters! I used butter instead of margarine. I also used a ricer for the potatoes instead of a mixer. Thanks for posting.

These were great. I do the same buy just adding whatever to make mine. But now actually having the right amounts taste a whole lot better. Thanks for sharing!

If you are looking for the best, basic mashed potatoe recipe, this is it. Very simple to follow instructions for mashed potatoes that turn out perfect every time! I added an additional tablespoon of butter at the end and instead of beating with a hand mixer, I mashed them by hand. Delicious, no fail recipe. Thank you!

This is also my way of making mashed potatoes. I like to warm up the milk before adding to the potatoes for mashing. Thank you for posting Tam.......Stephanie
