Very interesting and tasty salad. Funny that you can natuarally see almost any 2 or 3 ingredients together — but would not think to put all of them together. Surprisingly, I loved the apples pears and mustard together. The cucumbers, while adding crunch and color did not add nearly as much flavor.I used one Mutsu apple (pale green) and one Fuji apple (red) along with a Bosc. I did chill for about 30minutes and don't think additional time was needed often the case in these kinds of salads. The flavors came together rather quickly. And yes, replaced half the oil with water to make this lower in fat. Should point out that I am going with the new rating guides in Beta which are probably a bit more narrow than my old system. Months ago, this would have been 5 star. Thanks Chef Kate!

This was a delicious, different salad for our dinner with our grandaughter and her husband, a big hit!!I have to admit I was suprized at how well the dressing went with the veggies and fruit. A delightful change we will use often; thanks for posting Chef Kate!!

After seeing Derf's photos I had to try this salad. It is definitely different, but so well done. Everything just "works" well together. My changes were to use a purple onion and to add cracked black pepper. After draining I used the leftovers to top a spinach salad the next day. This recipe goes into my keeper file. Thanks Kate!

Wonderful and unusual combination of tastes, textures, and very eye-appealing. Served it with Chicken with Rosemary Sauce #43266 and they complimented each other very nicely. A keeper!

I made this salad for 12 women that had come over to play Bunko. All of my guests asked for the recipe! This salad has a wonderful, unique flavor that makes everyone want another serving! I found it isn't great the following day, as everything has a strong onion flavor. I used apple cider vinegar, and look forward to trying balsamic vinegar next time. Thank you!

To be honest, I was not sure about this recipe but I could see how these ingredients would work well together. I made this as a refreshing side salad for 20 members of our company. Big hit! I have already added this to my cookbook. Thank you.

Very different. We love cucumbers, but never thought to add apples and pears. My husband really liked the dressing, which complimented the ingredients very nicely. No changes were made. Delicious.

This was so interesting! I would not of thought this combination would really be that outstanding, but it was an complimented my menu perfectly. I was serving a spicy main course, and this salad was not only refreshing, but cleansed the palate too. The whole mustard, dill, brown sugar made a delightful dressing, and I will serve this again.

This was a lovely and different salad! The only change I made was, I left out the dill (I don't like dill) and I used a Comiche pear. Love it!
