This is a 10* recipe in our eyes! WOW! fantastic bread. My hubby is on cloud 9, he had 4 slices as soon as it came out of the oven today. I had forgotten to add the sugar but I don't think it harmed the flavor at all. I also used 2% milk instead of the powdered milk and I used bread flour that I use for baking bread. As soon as it came out of the oven, I brushed some melted butter over the entire loaf. This is most certainly a favorite in our house from now on! Thanks so much for sharing this marvelous bread!!

Wonderful bread and so easy to make. I have always either made bread by hand or left the machine do everything. I don't like the texure of most machine made breads. By using the machine for just making the dough and then baking in the oven, it was much easier and tasted just like hand made. The loaf turned out brown and very light with great flavor and texure. I will be using this recipe again and again. Thank you for posting

What I was looking for: soft American style bread especially for making hot dog and hamburger buns. I've tried several on this site and although some were pretty good, others were too hard or too eggy and more like brioche. They would be ok in other types of bread but not for American hot dog buns. I've ordered New England style roll mold or hot dog mold from King Arthur about a month ago and decided to make hot dog buns with this recipe. I am so impressed and so far the best bread yet for making hot dog buns. Very nice and soft texture - exactly what I was looking for. I made 10 hot dog rolls with this recipe. I used dough cycle on my ABM with first rise, shaped, filled the mold and did the second rise until double. Baked for 30 minutes and brushed with milk after coming out of oven for shiny and softer skin. I am so happy to find this recipe. Thank you for posting this wonderful recipe bailey46. Now, I can easily make hot dog and hamburger buns without buying from the store. This is a very easy recipe to make too. Just used regular yeast that I keep in bulk in the freezer and worked like a charm. Love it!

Wonderful flavor. Tastes just like the bread my grandma makes by hand. Mine didn't rise very much, but I think it has something to do with high altitude and a not so warm kitchen. Very easy to make. Thanks! UPDATE: I finally figured out how to make the dough in my bread maker, then put in in a pre-warmed oven and let it rise. Turned out GREAT! DH ate almost half of it in the first hour it was out of the oven then made a sandwich for his own lunch for the next day!! I will be making this bread on a weekly basis from now on. Thanks so much!!!

Excellant bread! I needed bread for lunch sandwishes the next day didn't feel like running to the store! It turned out great, the shape, nice rise. Good crumb, moist, nice flavor. Made a good sandwish. The ABM makes it very easy to mix up a loaf. A keeper recipe for sure!

Very nice and fluffy bread! So soft that it's a little difficult to cut right out of the oven and it tastes great when toasted. Thanks!

Wow! What a great bread!!! I made it just as instructed except I used butter instead of margarine and my powdered milk was nonfat... don't think it hurt this tasty loaf of bread one bit... After I let the dough cycle finish, I took it out and weighed out 4 2oz portions of dough to make some rolls for dinner. The rest of the dough I shaped into a loaf and placed in a loaf pan and brushed it with melted butter. Even though I took out 8 oz of dough, it STILL rose really high and filled the pan. I baked the rolls for 13-15 mins and the loaf for almost 30... The rolls were to die for and the loaf came out just golden brown and beautiful... just like all the pictures. I can't wait for breakfast tomorrow for some toast and lunch so I can have some sandwiches... Thanks so much for sharing!!!
