Out.........STANDING! I halved the recipe, substituted soy sauce for fish sauce, and used tigerduck's Red Curry Paste Red Curry Paste (another winner) and after it came together smoothly, we were rewarded with one of the most delicious dishes we ever ate! Served over rice and alongside Skipper/Sy's Stuffed Grape Leaves with Egg-Lemon Sauce by Sy Stuffed Grape Leaves With Egg-Lemon Sauce by Sy. This is going into my Encore cookbook, the one I reserve for the Best of the Best. Thank you so much for posting, Redsie! UPDATE: I just made this for the third time. It's official: My favorite ground beef recipe EVER. What an amazing dish. I feel like I owe you my first born or something.!

I also made this from my Cooking Light magazine. I substituted extra lean ground turkey and served it inside butter lettuce cups with a side of steamed rice. I can honestly say I didn't expect to like it much, but it was amazing. It is definitely becoming a staple in my house.

I had found this recipe in my issue of Cooking Light and decided to give it a go for our dinner. It worked out perfectly with lots of flavor and was very filling. I followed the magazine's menu suggestion and served with rice and a simple salad. Mine was chopped romaine, green onions and cilantro dressed with a squeeze of lime. Excellent meal.

Wonderfully unique and enjoyable! I'm eager to try this dish again with ground turkey as suggested by many. A good way to experiment with leeks; this was my first time giving them a try. I will definitely be doing so again! Thanks for passing this great idea along.

Incredible flavor! I followed the cooking instructions to a "t", but ended up garnishing the finsihed product with chopped cilantro. It had just the right amount of heat, sweet, and tang. An outstanding dish that I will make time and tiome again not only for it's flavor, but for it's ease. It's a perfect afterwork dinner.

This was delicious! We cook great meals every night, and the BF said that this was one of his favorites in a while. It was outstanding! We like stuff pretty spicy so I added a little more curry paste than called for, and honestly, could have used even more. That is just personal preference though. The only other change we made was that we accidently used the whole can of coconut milk (I think 14 oz). ( That could also be why it wasn't as spicy as we thought.) It turned out so great, I'm going to keep doing it that way! It was really creamy. I served it in a shallow bowl over jasmine rice and we loved ti!

Made this as written adding shredded carrots along with the beef. Used the remaining coconut milk to make coconut rice (2 cups rice, 2 cups coconut milk and 1 cup water) in my rice cooker. Easy AND delicious!!

This is excellent. Really lovely flavour. For any Aussie/Kiwi's I used a 400 g tin of tomato puree and a 400g tin of coconut cream and doubled all the other sauce ingredients but not the meat. This would work really well in a jaffle or as a filling for a pie maker (which are Australian toasted sandwiches). Thanks for sharing Redsie!

Easy and quick to prepare. I was surprised how tasty it was, as I don't associate ground beef with Thai food. I've tripled the amount and frozen it; will try it in fried spring rolls soon.

Can I give this 10 stars? How about 20? This recipe DESERVES them!! This was out-of-this-world FABULOUS! I added extra leeks and extra garlic and probably a little extra lime juice. I put Asian Chili sauce on the table in the event we wanted more "heat" because our 2 little ones wouldn't tolerate that. My husband took one bite and said "why would you even consider ruining or masking the flavors of this dish with chili sauce?". I still did add some and a little bit of heat really accentuated this recipe rather than detract from it. Let's put it this way...between my husband and I...we ate the whole stinking dish...1 stinking pound of ground beef plus all the extras that went into it. Had there been more...I'd have eaten that too. This was to die for!!! GREAT RECIPE! I paired this up with Chow Gai Laan (#103243) and we were in HEAVEN!!!!! If I could kiss the poster...I would!
