These cookies are fantastic! The technique used for forming the cookies really makes them look like gourmet bakery cookies. I got exactly 18 cookies, and with DS having friends over, they lasted all of 2 hours. Thanks for posting. Nick's Mom

Absolutely fantastic - much better than Mrs. Field's or Toll House! In response to the other review I'd like to say these are equally fantastic warm out of the oven and the next day; ours did not get any harder. The recipe made 42 nice-sized cookies that look as good as they taste.

These are by far and away the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had. The texture and flavor are perfect.

I honestly did not know that it was possible for a cookie to be chewy, crispy, and soft all at the same time. I didn't even bother with the complicated method for forming the cookies, but they still look and taste really, really goooood! thank you bgriddle!

These are very good. Daughter's first attempt at bikkies. We only used the lower amount of choc and still found it to be way chocolatey! Didn't have quite enough brown sugar so subbed the remainder in granulated, which was raw sugar. Used marg instead of butter, didn't do the fancy way of prepping, just mixed it and rolled them into balls, which made a wonderfully smooth large cookie. Tripled the batch and froze half the mixture ready for a quick bake during the week. We just put a freezer bag on a freezersafe tray and put the oven ready cookies on it, froze, and then turned the bag inside out once frozen, so the cookies were sealed inside. These are well worth making. Our type of bikky.

I made these extra large and got 12 delicious cookies. The technique is great for perfect bakery looking cookies and the parchment makes it easy to slip off onto the counter. I also used the cookie sheet recommended on Cook's Illustrated site and I'm so happy I bought it. UPDATE: A few days later my DH asked me to never make them again--he couldn't stop eating them!

Excellent cookies! I followed the recipe exactly, using light brown sugar and about 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips. (I did reduce the oven temperature to 300F, since I was baking them in a convection oven.) The method of forming the dough seemed quite unusual to me, but I followed it anyway and the cookies baked up very nicely. Thanks for posting the recipe!

These are the BEST chocolate chip cookies I think I have ever made!! And they are so beautiful and look very professional. They're not too cakey, not too chewy, and not too crisp. Just perfect! Everyone loved them and I will definitely be holding onto this recipe and will probably never use another chocolate chip cookie recipe, ever again! I didn't have regular chocolate chips on hand, so I used a 1 1/2 cup combination of pecans, mini choc chips, and toffee bits.
