This recipe is identical to the one my mom has made for years, which our family loves. It also works fantastic with fresh peaches or raspberries, just substitute peach or raspberry Jello powder for the strawberry.

This is delicious. I used fresh strawberries that wern't very sweet, and this pie sweetend them nicely. When berries are sweeter this summer, I will use less sugar. Made in a graham cracker crust and topped with lots of whipped cream. Perfect.

If you boil the gelatin too long it will not set. Adding the gelatin to the mixture after you remove from the heat is a better idea.

Delicious, outstanding pie, I added a layer of cream cheese [about 4 ozs] mixed with 3 tbl of powered sugar first then added strawberries and Jello

I don't like the 'fake' flavor of Jello, but found that if I added a splash of vanilla to the Jello it made the flavor richer. I also sprinkled the strawberries lightly with sugar and mixed it up before adding them to the pie. That seemed to take the edge off their tart flavor. Being in a hurry, I set the Jello-mix quickly by pouring it in a bowl that was then floated in ice water. Instead of waiting four hours for the Jello-mix to set, it set up in about 1/2 an hour. I thought it turned out nice for such a quick recipe.

Such a simple dessert and really good too, this was a Christmas dessert for us, I had planned on making this a few weeks ago, sure glad I did.

Very easy, and a good way to celebrate the first berries of the season!

Excellent! I can't believe that I just made this recipe yesterday, and it's gone! The strawberries take on such a nice flavor. The only bad part was waiting for it to set!! I would highly recommend this one!! Marianna U. Kretschmer

well i loved this. it was a little thicker than i thought it should be but i may have boiled it too long. next time i wont. or add more liquid. the texture of the sauce was sooo smooth. i think i'll make all my jello this way from now on. i didnt add any of the sugar and it was plenty sweet! i didnt use a crust just poured it in a 9x13 pan and served with or w/o cool whip. yum yum. thanks. i also added some vanilla as someone else suggested and i doubled the recipe.. i knew it would be good. thanks a lot i love it!

This is a really good recipe. I found it very easy to make and it turned out really well. I found that I needed to chill it for 4 1/2 hours for it to set. Next time I will cut down on the sugar, it was a bit too sweet. Thanks for posting!
