Note for it evolving into something more or for a change up,I could see adding a little molassass and brown sugar to the beans but recipe was great as is!!!

Just made this for lunch. It's very simple and turned out very tasty. It has a unique, hearty flavor. I used pinto beans (just because that's what I had in the pantry) and cocktail smokies instead of hot dogs, and I crumbled up the tater tots on top instead of adding them whole. I'm a single guy and I don't cook much, but I'm trying to get into the habit of cooking more. This is a perfect recipe for someone like me. I’ll certainly make it again.

This was a great way to combine things we usually eat together anyway! I took it to a church dinner and brought home nothing but a dirty pan. The only changes I made were to add ketchup, mustard and brown sugar to the baked beans like I usually do on the stovetop. Thanks for posting a great idea!

I followed the recipe except for adding a bit of chopped onion and a few slices of cooked bacon. This was delicious! It was soooo quick and easy and everyone loved it, especially the kids. This recipe has everything: Quick and easy to make, cheap to make, and a taste that everyone will like. Thanks Purple Taters!

Hubby & I both enjoyed this, however we think next time we may make it with chili beans instead of baked beans. We think we may prefer it to be less sweet, but that's just a personal preference. It sure didn't stop us from eating two helpings each! And some french fried onions might be good on top too!

love how easy and good this recipe is! hubby isnt a big fan of baked beans unfortunately, so i used chili instead. i doubled the recipe using 4-15 ounce cans of chili, 12 hotdogs and a whole bag of tator tots. for those of you using chili instead i suggest using shili with beans, i used half with and half without and it was very runny to dish up. tasted good but it didnt look as pretty as it would have i think. thanks for sharing this recipe!

This is really quite tasty! Very hearty & filling meal. I used maple beans which tasted great! I also used low fat wieners & light cheddar to make this a little healthier. My husband really liked it, too, & keeps telling people about "the redneck casserole" - he thinks the name is hilarious!

Delicious! I used colby cheese instead of cheddar. Quick and easy to throw together and it's such good comfort food! I can't wait to make this again using leftover grilled hot dogs. We added some ketchup to it on our individual servings. I mashed up my tater tots, and my fiancé ate it with the tater tots intact, it's good both ways.

Great Recipe!! Next time I will add some corn and some diced onion. I used barbecue baked beans too. I DON'T reccomend that!!
