115 Reviews of Caramelized Baked Chicken Legs/Wings

From: Poor College Student Chef

On Feb 6, 2007

MAKE SURE YOU COOK AT 180 CELSIUS, or 350 FAHRENHEIT! That may clear some problems up The chicken was delicious! I used skinless thighs, and the meat carmelized into a nice red color. The sauce was sweet and garlicky. However, it didn't penetrate too far into the meat. The 2nd day leftovers were actually better! The flavor went through the entire meat. I'm going to try marinating this before cooking next time. Thanks for this creative recipe!

I really loved this recipe. The only change I made was to cut back the honey to 1/4 cup but that was only because that was all I had left at the time. I used this sauce on about a dozen and a 1/2 drumsticks and they were delicious. I just baked them uncovered at 350' for about 45 minutes to an hour, turning them over once, and I basted them frequently. They were a nice golden brown and they tasted great. Wounderful! I'll definately use this recipe again. Thank's for posting!

Family and friends love this! If you do have time to marinate the chicken prior to a couple of hours it will bring the out the best in this recipe!

This recipe had easy to follow instructions, simple to make and it has a good flavor. I lined my pan with foil for easy cleanup. I also baked my wings for about 20 minutes longer. This recipe was Recipenapped and made for the Recipe Swap 14 game 2008 in the Aussie/NZ forum. Our group was The Kumara Kids Group 28

I used 5 thighs and added 1 haeping tsp of sambal oleek. At the end of baking I turned the oven to 500 for a few minutes to crisp the skin and caramelize the sauce. Delicious. I will make again for sure.

These were amazing. So ridiculously simple, but such flavour. I didn't change a thing and my two picky eaters loved it. Took just under an hour at 200C/400F. I KNOW I will make this again. Served it with garlic rice. Too good! The only thing I will do different next time though is marinate the chicken in the sauce overnight. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, this chicken was very good! Made our house smell wonderful. I used all legs. Next time I will probably poke holes and marinate to let the sauce sink through more thoroughly. But my oh my, that sauce was delicious! After about each bite we would drag the chicken through the sauce and eat. Couldn't get enough! (Edited to say I've made this recipe close to 7 times now, and counting and always cook about 1hr 25 minutes with a 2-4 hour marinade if I have the time, but even without people want the recipe. I also always use the 4.5 lb pack of legs, about 5 cloves garlic, 3/4 cup soy sauce and 1 cup honey). I highly recommend. Very simple and yummay. Keep Jesus!

I was very skeptical of this recipe--I've never tried glazed chicken in this manner and I am glad to report it is very yummy! I served this w/ easy garlic rice as someone suggested --thank you-- they were perfect together and also served w/ asparagus and for desert, the weight watchers apple cake from this site --VERY GOOD dinner. thank you

This is a FANTASTIC recipe!! To anyone who is thinking about using this recipe- try it! It is so easy, and it is sooo good. I loved the fact that it was so fast and easy to prepare with ingredients found in my cabinets. The temp. I cooked the legs at was about 360 degrees F. I kept them in about the suggested hour, and monitored them based upon their coloring. They were definitely carmelized by the time I took them out, and they made a very pretty presentation on top of tasting great. Thanks so much for sharing.
