This is a nice low-point version of Shepherd Pie. The filling has a nice flavor. The mashed potatoes were a little more bland than what we are used to so, not wanting to add points, I increased the mustard and added some horseradish to the potatoes. I also did not peel my potatoes - I never do. This recipe definitely has potential, we will try it again.

This recipe was a very tasty dish. I made it as directed except for the potatoes. I did not have any in the house so had to use instant which I made with chicken broth and some garlic powder. I notice that there was no garlic listed in ingredients but the directions called for it so I put in a clove as figured that would satify my crowd and it was a big hit. It will be made often in this house. thanks so much for posting it

I made this with 99% lean ground turkey, in order to make it extra healthy, and scratched the carrots and just used peas. It came out delicious, although it was a tad bit bland and the meat mixture was a teeny bit too dry for my taste. I tasted the meat mixture before I popped the whole thing in the oven and it was amazing and VERY juicy. Soo, I am thinking the reason for the dryness is from cooking for 40 minutes in the oven, and I am definitely going to make this recipe again next week and try cooking it in the oven for only about 20-25 minutes.
