This is one of my favorite recipes as well. I make it with cream of mushroom soup and add sliced water chestnuts as well. Another nice change is to substitute French-fried onion rings for regular onions. I put half in the mixture and the other half on top.

This was super easy and delicious! I was a little skeptical about using my microwave to cook the casserole, as I normally use it just for heating up leftovers and making popcorn. But the casserole came out perfect, and was ready in just 20 minutes! I cut the onions down to only 1/4 cup, because of the kids. Everyone loved it and my husband even asked me the next day if there was any leftover, which has to be the ultimate compliment! Thanks for sharing!

Excellent, quick recipe! I use the large jar of cheez whiz and use it all! I also use dried onions for fresh ones. I haven't used the ham yet, but this is a delicious recipe the way it is. Fed it to family and friends with rave reviews.

Very quick and easy and a great flavorful side! I think less butter would be better though, but will definitely make it again and again!!

A family tradition for over 40 years. Since I was serving with ham, I used Cream of Mushroom soup and left out the ham. Also used a Kraft Garlic Cheese roll in place of the Cheez Whiz. MMMMM.
